2001 STARK MANSION MALIBU
"If I come back here and find that you've been in the lab for the entire week and you haven't slept, I'll kill you," Florence warned Tony. "Ava's bedtime is—"
"Nine, I know —"
"No sugar after—"
"Florence, stop," Tony groaned. "I know how to look after my daughter!"
"Pepper knows how to look after her properly. You're just there to be the fun dad," Florence pointed out. "Like now, where is Ava?"
Tony looked around in a quick panic while trying to look casual. In reality, he had no idea where his daughter had run off to...until he looked at the open front door. Avalyn was standing with a butterfly in her hand, looking at it with a titled head and the most fascinated sparkle in her eyes.
"Friend!" She echoed with a grin,"Look, daddy!"
"Found her?" Tony looked at Florence, who crossed her arms.
"This is why she can't go on any business trips with you," Florence commented, taking Avalyn's hand and pulling her into the house. "Ava, be good. Mommy won't be gone long.
"I always am, mommy!" Avalyn replied. "I build spaceships!"
"You do that," Florence kissed her head. "I love you. I'll see you in a week...Tony, I trust you to look after her."
Tony rolled his eyes. He was perfectly capable of looking after his daughter for a week...as long as Pepper would keep her eye on her, too. It wasn't that Tony wasn't a good father, because he could be; it was more about knowing what kept his young daughter entertained for 24 hours every day for a week.
"I always do, and you make sure not to do anything that will get you killed, yeah?" Tony made her promise.
"I know how to do my job, Tony," said Florence, kissing his cheek. "I mean it. Watch her, I haven't gone on a mission this long in years."
