AVENGERS TOWER

Avalyn Stark hesitated.

All her life, Avalyn had only wanted to do good. She had been forced into a life she never wanted, fearing it would spiral into a pool of blood that would consume her whole. Instead, she was rescued...but she couldn't escape her fate even after that. She was destined for destruction or death, wasn't she?

Everything she did was plagued with nightmares of what could be or what could do wrong all of the time. The guilt she felt for the death she caused, even if she didn't pull the trigger, was enough to last a lifetime.

It was safe to say Avalyn wanted nothing to do with whatever lay in the Cradle that had been brought to them. She didn't care what happened as long as it wasn't going to put more blood onto her tainted hands. Was that too much to ask?

"The framework is not compatible," Tony said to Bruce, working on the Cradle.

Avalyn's mind was in another place as she tampered with a pair of random trainers to make them easier to run at high speeds. Part of her thought of Pietro and how useful they would be for him.

"The genetic coding towers at ninety-seven percent. You have got to upload that schematic in the next three minutes," Bruce explained.

Avalyn was lost in thought when she suddenly heard a sound, like footsteps. She turned around to see Steve, Florence, Wanda, and Pietro walking towards her. Avalyn quickly stood up, her heart racing with excitement and anticipation. Her eyes locked onto Pietro's as she felt a strange sensation in her chest. She tried to speak but her mouth felt dry and her brain felt foggy. She couldn't believe she was standing in front of the twins, who had been occupying her thoughts for days.

"Pietro, Wanda," She whispered.

"I'm gonna say this once," Steve said seriously.

"How about, 'nonce'?" Tony answered sharply, not even turning away from his work.

"Shut it down, Tony," said Florence sternly.

"Nope, not gonna happen," Tony replied as Avalyn looked at him.

"You don't know what you're doing!" Steve argued, taking a confident step forward.

"And you do?" Bruce moved to look at Wanda coldly,"She's not in your head?"
