Avalyn Stark had not been in the Avengers Compound in five years.

It was so odd to be back there, the first place that she had called home after H.Y.D.R.A. Nothing had changed with the standard rooms and it was clear no one was there, other than Natasha. She felt guilty about not visiting the place that had practically gave her BLAZE, the hero she never thought she could be.

Then there were other chances too. Bruce was no longer...the same. He'd merged with the Hulk, which Avalyn couldn't quite get over. It was certainly a change. Clint seemed far more sombre and reserved, though Avalyn knew he'd lost his entire family to the snap.

Having two speedsters, one being equipped to handle mechanics, was a large bonus when building what Avalyn could only describe as a time machine. Avalyn was as smart as her father, far from it, but she still had his genes.

"Do you think this is really going to work?" Pietro questioned as they walked towards the testing chamber.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y thinks so, I think so and dad thinks so...but there's only one way to find out," Avalyn admitted.

Avalyn stood in the testing chamber with her arms crossed, watching Nebula tap away at her holographic controls. Scott, Bruce and Rhodey were gathered around, each with their own level of focus—or lack thereof.

"Clint, now you're gonna feel a little discombobulated from the chronoshift. Don't worry about it," said Bruce, his tone calm as always, though his eyes betrayed a hint of concern.

"Wai-wait a second, let me ask you something," Rhodey began, his expression sceptical. "If we can do this, you know, go back in time, why don't we just find baby Thanos, you know, and..." He made a strangling motion, his words trailing off.

Bruce recoiled, clearly repulsed by the thought.

"First of all, that's horrible..." said Bruce, his voice thick with disapproval.

"Yeah, Rhodey, really?" Avalyn added, her voice dry as she raised an eyebrow at him.

Rhodey shrugged, clearly unfazed by their reactions.

"It's Thanos," said Rhodey, as if that excused the suggestion.

Avalyn shook her head, sighing. She hated Thanos but killing another version of him wasn't going to help them.
