2015 QUINJET UNKOWN
In the heart of the dense forest, a quinjet was hovering over the trees. Inside the aircraft, a group of battle-worn heroes were gathered around a table where a wounded Avenger, Clint Barton, lay. The wound on his torso looked deep, but he was being tended to. Natasha Romanoff and Bruce Banner keeping a close eye on him, while Steve Rogers and Thor Odinson were sitting near the table, observing the rest of the group with concern etched on their faces. Amidstthe chaos, a young girl with long, brunette hair lay on another stretcher.
Tony Stark and Florence Meadows thought their child was dead.
Yet, Florence was convinced that the enhanced HYDRA member had to be their daughter. There was no other explanation of why this girl had the same birthmark and two scars that Avalyn Stark did. There was nothing that could take away the resemblance she had to the eleven-year-old Florence saw for the last time before she disappeared.
"Avalyn," Florence placed her hand on the girl's cheeks. "Tony, don't you see? It's our Ava."
"Flo, don't get ahead of yourself," Natasha warned. "You don't really know..."
"I know my daughter," Florence snapped, taking the teenager's arm and showing her wrist. This scar...she got it from falling while we were being harassed by reporters."
Florence moved her hair to see the jagged scar on her neck,"And this, this is the scar she got when she exploded one of the rockets she built. She spent two days in the hospital. And this! This is, behind her ear, her birthmark. I knew it was her so I checked."
"Then what is she doing here, Florence?" Bruce questioned. "She attacked us."
Natasha and Steve shared a look. They both knew of someone else that HYDRA turned into a weapon.
"A lot happened when I worked for S.H.I.E.L.D...bad things alongside the good ones. I helped someone HYDRA didn't want anyone to know about and I paid for that. I was prewarned they caught wind of it so I grabbed Avalyn and tried to get to the safehouse as quickly as possible."
Florence swallowed as Clint grabbed her hand from the table to squeeze it. They'd been friends for a very long time and he knew a lot more than anyone else did.
