AVENGERS TOWER
NEW YORK

Though Avalyn had not told anyone, the tingle she still felt in her leg was due to one weak spot.

Avalyn didn't like admitting her weaknesses out loud in fear someone would use it to their advantage and someone could use this if she wanted to. Right below her knee was a nerve and bone that never healed right after Katarina Barnes threw her off that railing, something she was sure never to forgive her for. That very small unhealed area was due to Avalyn's body heeling it too fast without her having corrected the bone first. There was nothing she could do about it now.

It reminded her that everyone had a weakness and it reminder her that anyone could be defeated one way or another if you knew where to look for it.

"You alright?" Happy questioned.

She was in Avengers tower, the first time she'd seen a world outside of HYDRA. Her dad had sold it so Avalyn had stopped by to make sure they were moving everything safely and not breaking her stuff, though it turned out she'd already moved most of it.

"I'm fine," Avalyn replied, speeding a few items into a box. "You know, I could have this whole place back in like...a few hours on my own."

"I don't think your dad would want me to let you," Happy smiled, patting her shoulder. "But thank you."

"No problem," Avalyn grinned as Happy answered a phone call.

While he did so, she continued to speed boxes up to the plane. She didn't have to do so but Avalyn was using it to spend some time with Happy Hogan, who'd known her since she was a child. Besides, her father was in another country and Avalyn needed the distraction.

"Who was on the phone?" Avalyn asked curiously.

"Just parking complaining about some petty theft," Happy sighed. "He won't stop calling me."

"I'll go check on him," Avalyn assured, patting his shoulder. "He's a good kid, just a little...excited."

"Thank you, Ava," Happy replied in relief. "Don't forget to stop by and see Pepper, okay?"

"I promise."

Just like that, Avalyn was gone in a gust of wind.
