We were back in the Lanes. The air was thick with all sorts of smells. Food, smoke and stenches of every kind. But it all seemed to fade away with Caitlyn beside me. I glanced over at her outline. She really is perfect in every way. This girl, this woman is determined to make a difference even if it kills her.

She had this idea of making some real changes in Zaun. She had drummed up a number of supporters and investors from close family friends. Really they were aligned with her family, many probably couldn't actually say no to her. She showed pictures and drew intense imagery of the state of many Zaunite families. She never used me in her arguments but I wouldn't have minded if she did. I usually accompanied her and just watched. She was brilliant. I really couldn't get enough of her; her heart, her mind, her body.

We were now sort of alone walking back from a facility - a safe house she called it - for women and children without a home or otherwise in hard times. She had purchased the large older warehouse and began renovations turning it into a nice living space for up to 4 dozen families. It was impressive and a kind gesture. I knew I would have wanted a place like that as a kid. To feel a little safe even if the world shattered around me. Caitlyn raised enough funds to hire about a dozen employees (all from Zaun) and provide 3 meals a day. People were hesitant to accept the help but it was mine and Ekko's job to help ease them into a better life.

I don't really know how she did it all. I think her parents pitched in a lot of funds towards this non profit too. She had changed their perspective some and she blamed me for this. She teased I was rubbing off on them. Yeah right, I smirked and brushed it off. She was the one pushing for change and she was the one commanding respect for Zaun - for me.

I stopped her in the alley. Just smiled and held her hand gently.

"Caitlyn you really are incredible. I can't believe you've done all of this." I ran my thumb over her hand. "Thank you, for everything."

"It's the least I could do..." She reached to give me a hug, but I placed my hands on her waist stopping her gently. Her bright blue eyes met mine and I couldn't help but melt. I blushed a little. "The next step is rehab facilities..." she looked around then up and down my face as I just starred at her; maybe a little flustered.

"You are amazing, I'm so happy I met you." I reached up to touch her cheek then her lips softly with my thumb. She didn't stop me. Only locking eyes with mine.

I leaned in to kiss those soft lips as gently as I could. But it felt too soft, God knows I'm not very gentle. She giggled a little so I eased into a harder kiss pushing her up against the wall behind her. Kissing her neck and back to those lips. She grabbed the back of my neck and held me closer with one steady hand. Then the other made it's way up my arm pulling my elbow in so I'd grab her waist then her thigh as she raised her knee up to my side. It was a state of euphoria we both shared there in the Lanes. A moment of bliss I had never felt before.
