It was pretty late. Cait and I got into a fight earlier and she didn't come home. I was looking around in her usual spots but she wasn't anywhere to be found. I gave up and walked into one of my favorite bars to have a drink.

Just as I walked in I noticed this familiar creature sitting at the bar with her tall top hat sitting beside her.

"Ya know, I rea-lly could of done so you know?..." she was mumbling to the bar tender. Oh no I think she's wasted. Damn it.

"Cait?" I walked up slowly. She spun around nearly tipping our of her stool.

"You!" She pointed her hand then it dropped violently to he side. "You're a bad person." she barely got out.

I walked over to her slowly and tried to steady her but she pushed me off, "no, no I can handle myself." Trying to be proper.

"Cait come on, I don't want to fight."

"Nnnn n n." she was no longer forming words. "I dun wanna go home with you. You - y , ooo..." she trailed off looking over my shoulder at nothing.

"Ok let's just get some fresh air." I paid her tab and held her arms walking her outside.

"Vi- o - let you broke my heart..." she started to cry.

"Babe it wasn't that bad -"

"Shhhhhh I'm talking." She stopped fake sobbing with a gasp. She held her fingers to my lips then her own. I was really trying not to laugh now. Pursing my lips together.

"Why won't you go with me to the Christmas party?" She started to cry.

"Babe. Cait. Does it really mean that much to you?"

"Yussss..." she sniffed, "Jayce and Mel will be there and I wanna show em we're cuter." She bopped me on the nose.

I let out a laugh but she was still mad so I quickly stopped, "okay, okay. I'll take you. Sure, come on let's go home you didn't even bring a jacket."

"Oh you will Love?" Her whole demeanor changed but she still could not stand and nearly fell over. I caught her around the waist pulling her arm around my shoulders.

"Yeah if it means that much to you, who am I to say no?"

"Oh you're a good woman Vi." She gave me a sloppy wet kiss.

"Hmm yeah don't forget ok." I winked and started slowly walking us home.

Damn I'm glad I found her. She was a wreck. All this for a silly party?

She woke up with a massive headache, as I suspected she would. She rarely drank and this was excessive even for my standards.

"Hey there." I said running my fingers through her hair. I had already made her a cup of coffee and grabbed some aspirin from the cabinet.

"Oh thank God." She said graciously taking them both.

"You know you were really wasted last night." I looked her over. She nodded. "What did I say that had you so upset?"

"Oh... it's nothing." She waved at an imaginary nothing.

"Really? I don't believe that. I don't think I've ever seen you so drunk."

She let out a big breathe. "Ugh. It was Jayce ok, he bet me you wouldn't go. And I mean it was a big bet."

"Damn really?"

"Yeah I met him there at the bar and he said if I could out drink him instead he'd forgive the previous bet and give me paid time off for a week.... So you know."

"What did you have to do if you lost?"

"Oh I couldn't lose."

"What?"

"Oh yeah the humiliation would have been too great."

"Do I need to have a talk with Jayce?"

"No no, that's taken care of." She held her cup smugly.

I got back up and shook my head. "Right, remind me to never bet against you."

She grinned and went back to thinking about something.

"Oh so for the party can I take you shopping please? You need a better outfit for this one."

"Ugh I hate that stuff."

"I know but you said you'd take me. I'm supposed to have some hunk on my arm." She winked.

"Oh really? What did you have in mind?" I raised my eyebrow up and down.

"Oh... Ha, alright we can go to that store after we pick out an outfit." She conceded.

"Yes! Thanks Babe!" I leaned in placing a quick peck on her cheek.

"I'll go get ready." I maybe was too eager for this, but she just smiled and waved me along.
