... Just after Jinx's attack on the council Jinx has vanished...

Vi began walking Caitlyn inching closer into Piltover. They both had experienced concussions and were feeling agonizingly sick at everything they had just experienced as well as what they were about to see. They didn't really speak. They were in shock but Vi kept pressing forward. Caitlyn felt the need to reach the disaster area as quickly as they could, but a part of her was grateful for their slower pace - she clung to Vi. She was going to need Vi's strength to get through all of this. If she could get through it. Not knowing if she could handle anything more.

As they neared the corner across from the council's tower Caitlyn collapsed. The scene was something of sheer terror. People were still running to escape from the burning building. Smoke and ash filled the air and enforcers were running up and out of the tower. There was no sign of the council members, though the top of the tower had been clearly sheered off.

"Cait, do you want?" Vi asked and paused. She wasn't sure if Caitlyn could bare to see any of this. "Caitlyn I'm right here. What do you want me to do?... What do you need me to do?"

After the initial shock. Caitlyn blinked and looked into Vi's concerned eyes. "I - I've got to know if my mom..."

"Okay. We'll find her. Do you want me to take a look? I can-"

"No, no I have to see. Please take me in there Vi."

"If you're sure. Can you walk?" Caitlyn nodded.

With effort they began ascending up the stairs. People still fled down every now and then rushing past them. The building shook and groaned as beams fell. Small fires were extinguished by the enforcers and others that came to help. Their eyes stung from the smoke and their tears seared their cheeks. Vi held Caitlyn close steadying her with every step. She couldn't let her go.

It was agonizing for them. They both knew the council was likely all dead. There was so much destruction all around them. And so much fear.

Inching closer to the council chambers everything began to be eerily silent. The doors were gone and only a few remnants of the structure remained. The shock of the site started to sink in as Caitlyn's boots began tapping on what was once a beautifully intricate floor.

There were a few things that didn't make sense. No bodies, not much blood - they must have been moved already. And some things were still standing despite the blast. The table was half intact and papers - clean and untouched - lay on the floor at their feet.

An enforcer had seen them enter and called out. "Hey! What are you?... Miss Kirraman?!"

Caitlyn turned facing the man. "Miss they've been taken to the infirmary, a few are still alive - your mother - "

"Where is my mother?" Caitlyn cried out.

He gulped, "She's. I'm not sure. She was taken there... let me call an escort."

"No take us yourself - right now!" Vi yelled out.

"Yes ma'am of course."

They rushed down the stairs. Now much faster; Vi at one point carried Caitlyn down a flight. Maybe there was still hope. They could feel their hearts beating far too fast but couldn't slow down. Arriving at the infirmary chaos was pouring in and around every piece of the building. Some injured, many worried, and so much happening neither of them could focus.
