Vi sparred in the corner to an invisible force. I accidentally let out a little laugh.

"Oh sure laugh it up Cupcake." She teased and kept dodging and pulling punches.

She seemed in slow motion for a moment; her abs and biceps on full display. I shook my head blinking looking back down at a map of the city. I cleared my throat. "There!" I pointed "that's the perfect spot for an ambush I can set up high and you low... in the-"

"That's what she said." Vi busted out a serious laugh. God she had been holding that one in. She couldn't help herself. I twitched my nose and rolled my eyes smirking.

"Plenty of time for that later." I teased her patting her on the chest, She leaned in right as my mother burst through the door.

"He's here! Good Lord put some clothes on Violet."

"Mother, don't you ever knock?"

"You two better get yourselves down stairs. Now!"

"Alright, just a -"

"Sorry misses K be right there!" Vi threw a wave in the air as my mother stormed away. Then she raised her eyebrows in utter delight.

"You know you enjoy that just a bit too much." I jokingly scolded and gave her a quick kiss.

"Oh come on it's so funny that she's still appalled by me. Well by us. But ya know she handled that better today, maybe we're finally wearing her down."

"Don't bet on it." I gave her a quick peck and grinned. "Come on put your shirt on."

"Alright alright. I'm coming lieutenant."

Downstairs an all too familiar voice rang through the entry. My parents still enamored with Jayce welcomed him in with open arms. He noticed me descending the stairs and threw a wink and little salute. 'Oh gods now I have two cheesy teenagers to deal with on a daily basis. These two are going to be the end of me.' I gave him a teasing glare and curled my lip at his antics.

Vi stumbled her way out of my room a few moments after still messing with her dress uniform trying to look a bit more put together. I just smirked and caught glances from both my mother and now Jayce who broke his with a head shake and eyebrow raised with his classic larger than life smile. He walked up and tapped my shoulder. "Ya really scored with that one didn't you."

"Damn right I did." I grabbed his hand off and squeezed his thumb uncomfortably hard teasing back.

"Ow ok I give up. I give up." He steadied himself again.

"Hi there Vi!"

Instead of a salute he surprisingly walked right up to her slightly bowed his head then proceeded to complete some strange secret hand shake. My jaw about hit the floor. "What?!"

"Oh yeah we're friends now," Jayce laughed out turning back at me.

"Yeah babe- I mean Caitlyn he's told me so much about you."

I could feel my mothers eyes drilling into the back of my head and I still couldn't wrap my head around what just happened.

"Ahhhhh - right." My eyes were huge glaring at Vi. "Let's eat shall we?" I turned giving my parents a nod then turned back glaring at the both of them. I mouthed, "I'm watching you two!" What in the hell were they up to? Sneaky bastards.

We all entered the dining hall and sat ceremoniously around the extra large dining table. My family after all spared no expense especially to impress.

"So Jayce do tell us of your latest inventions..." my mother prattled on. But not before giving me the glance of death to keep Vi in line.
