"AUSTIN, YOU DON'T have to worry. You still have me."

I could still remember the look on my mom's face when my dad died. She's suppressing her tears while forcing herself to smile at me just to make me think that she's okay.

And I remember crying every day because of it.

It was a sunny day, and my mom was grilling some meat in our swimming pool area while my dad was teaching me how to swim. Our usual family day was spent like that. It was either my mom or my dad who was telling me or instructing me something new.

The flowers were in full bloom, birds were chirping around us, and our laughter resonates throughout our humble abode.

It was a day I treasured and dreaded the most.

But when I looked back, I saw him already drowning.

Everything happened so fast as we rush him to the hospital, but water already filled his lungs and there wasn't enough oxygen supplied to his brain causing him to be brain dead while we were in the ambulance.

And when we reached the hospital, he was dead on arrival.

He never told my mom so she wouldn't worry.

I've always thought how ridiculous his reason was.

Aren't we a family?

Ever since my mom got close to the Padua's we visit often in their mansion, and sometimes, they visit ours. I've always looked forward to seeing the girl the don brings with his daughter. I've always loved how happy she looks whenever I see her.

However, what I thought was the one I like, changed, when I met the girl who looks dull at a first glance but was able to make me smile and laugh genuinely again after all those years of agony.

"This is Austin, Brielle. Do you remember him?"

"Yes, po. I remember him being chubby before—"

I couldn't contain my amusement at what she said. I unconsciously smirked at her.

She looks cute.

They say that Brielle is a snob and timid heiress, always following her father's commands. Walang pakialam sa iba as long as she can fulfill what Don Tiago wants her to do.

But everything was the exact opposite.

She's kind, sweet, lovely, and bright, and everyone who could talk to her would instantly fall in love with her. That's how great of a person she is.

I know that our engagement is not on until we graduate, but I could already feel that being married to her would bring me the greatest joy of my life.

I know and I can feel that she's pushing me to be with Jamila. Jamila and I talked it out.

Because I know that doing this will make Brielle happy.
