"Can I ask how this all happened?"
Shadow stayed silent.
"Please?"
Shadow took a while to think about it until he finally sighed.
"Fine. I guess I'll tell you."
You looked at him as he kept his eyes closed.
"This all happened a few years ago."
*Flashback*
Shadow's POV:
"We lived in a very different location in a very big open valley. It was a very nice day. Me and Maria had been friends since we were kids."
"Maria is a Shapeshifter and we did a lot together. She was my very close friend, the only one who truly understood me."
Little Maria was eating with her Mother when suddenly, she noticed little Shadow sitting by a tree, alone and sad.
She kept staring at him until her Mother said,
"Keep eating dear. We have a lot to do today."
"But Mommy. Look."
Her Mother noticed Maria was pointing at Shadow.
"Seems like he needs a friend."
"Oh! I can be his friend!"
"Why don't you invite him to join us."
"Ok!"
Maria got up and ran to Shadow. She slowly walked towards him as Shadow stayed at the same position.
"Hello?"
Little Shadow looked at her as she continued talking.
"You look like you could use a friend. Wanna join me and my Mommy for lunch?"
Shadow stayed silent as he was staring at the ground.
"Hey..." Maria sat by him and said,
"I can tell something is bothering you. You feel alone and abandoned don't you?"
Shadow started to form tears but he was also shocked on how Maria knew how he felt.
"My Mommy died from a heart attack. I miss her so much..."
Maria opened her arms for a hug. Shadow hesitated at first but he slowly hugged back.
Soon, she pulled away and looked at him.
"I'm so sorry. If you like, we would like to invite you to eat lunch with us."
Shadow looked ahead and saw Maria's Mother. She gave him a sweet smile and waved at him.
When Shadow saw her smile, it made him feel a little bit better. He wiped his tears away, sniffing a little as he smiled back.
"So what do you say friend?" Maria asked as she held out her hand.
Shadow looked at it and then back at her.
"Me? A friend?"
"Of course!"
Shadow smiled a bit and grabbed her hand. She pulled him up slowly and they both head towards Maria's Mother.
"Hello sweetie. You must be hungry."
"I sure am miss. Thank you for inviting me."
"Of course. We couldn't let you stay sad over there. Now let's get you some food."
Shadow smiled and began to eat with them.
Shadow's POV:
"Ever since that day, Me and Maria have been best friends. We spent a lot of time together. My Dad lets me play until sunset so I went to go see Maria as much as possible."
