Shadow's POV:
"About 1,000 years ago, Shapeshifters and Outsiders lived in harmony."
"Shapeshifters were a lot different than they are today. Back then, Shapeshifters could turn into mythical creatures like Dragons, Hybrids, Monsters, and even prehistoric creatures like Dinosaurs."
"But our Queen Tikal, was the only one who can turn into a Phoenix. She kept our land at peace and was a very wise Shapeshifter."
"Everything was going well. Until that one night..."
In the Past:
Tikal was chatting with one of her friends until one of her guards came in.
"Your highness?"
"Yes?"
"There's something you need to see."
The guard walked outside as Tikal followed.
The guard stopped walking as he pointed towards something on the ground. Tikal took a closer look and gasped in horror.
A Shapeshifter lost his life, along with the gem from his head.
"I'm afraid there is more your highness." He pointed ahead as there was about 5 more Shapeshifters on the ground and they all had missing gems.
"Were you able to see who did this?"
"No. It all happened so fast but they did leave a note."
He gave her the note as she looked at it.
"I had enough of this peace and harmony! You think you can just take all the glory because you're all powerful and special!? Well I'm sick of it! I'm gonna end this once and for all whether you like it or not!"
Tikal had a fear look in her eyes as she read the note.
"What do we do your highness?"
"We warn our people and the outsiders. They could still be out there to try to hurt someone else."
The guard stayed silent as she looked at him.
"Something wrong?"
"The Outsiders are gone your highness. They left the area hours ago."
"Well where did they go?"
Before he could answer, they turned their heads and saw the Outsiders holding torches and weapons while riding on horses.
Their leader stood in front them as Tikal approached them.
"My friends! What's going on!? What is this about!?"
"Give us your gem!"
"Yeah! You think you can have it all to yourselves!"
"What are you talking about!?"
"We need your gem Tikal. To help heal the pain in me and to finally overthrow you for me to take your crown."
"I don't know what you think you're doing but this is insane!"
"This will be easier if you cooperate or else we'll just take the other's gems."
"You won't lay another finger on my subjects! I hereby banish you from our lands!"
He chuckled and said,
"You know you can't do that Tikal and even if you could, I'm not going anywhere. Pretty soon you won't be so special anymore!"
The Outsiders started to charge as Tikal quickly ran to warn her people along with her guard.
Shadow's POV:
"Tikal rushed to the village to warn her subjects. The parents took the children to safety while the others went into battle. As soon as the two groups collided, the war has begun."
In The Past:
Tikal turned into a Phoenix and glowed brightly as she flew towards the Outsiders. She blew a wave of fire as some of them caught on fire. She used her dodging skills to get them trapped in the hidden traps that was for catching food.
Even though she could take them down, there was to many of them plus her subjects are going down one by one. She knew that if this kept going on, everyone will die.
She has no choice but to use the ultimate power, The Blue Moon.
Tikal had a necklace of a Blue Moon as it gave her extra power during the night of the Blue Moon.The Blue Moon started to glow as her necklace did as well.
Her Phoenix body spreads her wings as she glows bright blue.
Everyone looked at her shocked as light rays were spreading everywhere.
"What is happening!?"
"I'm sorry..."
A huge blast of light appeared as it pushed the Outsiders far away and formed a hidden protected shield around the Shapeshifters home.
When the light went away, Tikal's necklace fell onto the ground. But not Tikal.
Shadow's POV:
"On that night, Tikal sacrificed herself to protect her subjects by using all of her energy, plus the power of the Blue Moon and trapped herself inside the necklace."
"Over time, Animals started to evolve as everyone's powers began to change since we were forced into hiding. New generations did not get the animal powers that our ancestors did."
"And that was the last time anyone ever saw Tikal or The Outsiders again. Until today."
Tikal jumped out of the book and went back to her spot where she was before as the book closed itself.
You were shocked by this.
"This all happened because their leader wanted your gems?"
"Yeah. Our gems are pretty powerful."
"But that seems like a long time ago. How come they're still after you guys?"
"Who knows."
You were silent for a bit but you stood up and said,
"Thanks for the story. I'm sorry you guys had to go through so much."
"It's been rough but we still manage to make a living."
You nodded as Shadow opened the door to leave the library. You went after him as the door disappeared.
