Animal Spirit Training Chapter 8

You were feeling nervous as you looked around your surroundings. You obviously had no idea what Amy had in store for you.

While you were backing up a bit, you noticed some deer quickly looking around, smelling the air and then started running. You were confused until someone shouted,

"Think fast!"

You gasped as your face was now covered with pie. He laughed as the pie fell from your face.

"What the!?"

"Really Y/N? You couldn't even smell a fresh baked pie?" Amy asked as she walks towards you and James.

"First of all, it was to fast for me to even get a scent. Second, where and how did you even get a fresh baked pie?"

"Don't worry about that. How about we try again. This time, try to smell the pie."

"You never even told me that pie was gonna be involved."

"Well I did say Deer have a strong sense of smell."

"Are you serious right now?"

"Do you want to be a shapeshifter or not?"

You sighed and said, "Fine."

You took the flavor of the pie from your face and tasted it.

"Hmm. F/F Pie. Not bad." (Favorite Flavor Pie)

"Alright let's try again!" Amy said.

After awhile, you continued to try to use your sense of smell but you were having a bit of trouble as you continued to get hit in the face with different kinds of pie by James.

You finally had enough.

"I can't do this. Can we do something else that doesn't evolve food for awhile?"

"Yeah we can do that. Thanks for trying James."

"No problem." James said as he walked away.

"Let's go see Knuckles." You and Amy went to the Elephant grounds and you were amazed to see so many Elephants.

"There he is!" Amy said as she pointed at Knuckles."

He was resting by the tree as you and Amy walked towards him.

"Hey Knuckles!"

"Hmm?" He opened his eyes and saw Amy.

"What's up Amy?"

"This is Y/N. She wants to learn how to shapeshift. Y/N, This is Knuckles. He's an Elephant Shapeshifter."

"Wait? I heard about you. You're a non-shapeshifter that Silver saved right?"

"Yeah. That's me."

"Amy? Are you sure this is a good idea? We've never done anything like this before."

"I know but she really wants to try and we thought we would come to you. Now Y/N, to get the Elephant symbol, Elephant's are very strong. So Knuckles will show you what to do."

"Amy, I'm kinda busy at the moment so..."

"You were literally doing nothing when we got here."

Knuckles sighed and said,

"Alright fine. But you have to find me food for tonight."

"Deal. Good luck Y/N!" Amy said as she walked away.

You looked at Knuckles nervously.

"Come with me, We'll start your training." Knuckles started walking as you followed him.

Soon, you noticed that he was walking towards a giant boulder.

"You see this boulder?"

You nodded.

"Elephant's are very strong and can carry a least 21 more times than normal Mobians. So we'll start little by little."

"Ok."

"I'll show you an example."

You watched carefully as he picked up the biggest boulder and lifts it over his head.

You were shock as you also noticed that he wasn't struggling at all.

"Whoa!"

Knuckles puts the boulder down and looks at you.

"Alright Y/N. Let's get started."

During the training, you were doing pretty good so far by lifting each different size boulders. You started out small first but soon, you started to get to the larger ones.

"I'm impressed Y/N. Maybe the Elephant will be your animal after all."

You grinned at him as you looked at your arm. Nothing was there.

"Don't get to excited. You still have one last boulder to carry. If you can do it, you might have a chance."

You walked towards the boulder and took a deep breath.

"Ready...Go!"

You began to use all of your strength to lift the boulder but you were having a bit of an issue. Knuckles watched as you continued to try to lift it up.

After a minute, you were about to give up but suddenly, you felt it being lifted up. You struggled for awhile until you finally reached it over your head.

"I-I did it...I did it!"

"Nice one Y/N."

You looked at your arm and saw nothing."

"W-What? But I..." Suddenly, your arms were starting to shake.

"Uh oh! Knuckles! I need help!"

Knuckles turned into an Elephant, letting out an Elephant sound as he used his trunk to grab the boulder from you and sets it down slowly.

You collapsed to the ground, panting from exhaustion.

"Did it work?" He asked, telepathically.

You sighed and said,

"No..."

"That's alright Y/N. You really did impress me today. Go ahead and take a break. I'll take you to someone else that might help."

"Thanks Knuckles."

Knuckles nodded.
