Maria stood up slowly and looked at you slowly.
She looked all worn out, tired and injured.
"What...but....H-How is this possible? If you're Maria, then who was that?" You pointed towards the exit, waiting for an explanation.
"That was one of the rare Shapeshifters from the past. They used me to get closer to everyone. You have to hurry before it's to late."
"But how are we going pass the guards?"
"Leave it to us." Tails said.
With the Lioness guards, they were sitting by the door quietly as Rouge turned into a chameleon and ran outside.
She started taunting them as they started to growl at her. She quickly ran off as the Shapeshifters followed her while roaring.
You, Maria and Tails finally escaped as Tails turned into a monkey and jumped towards the tree.
He started climbing the tree and held onto the branch with his tail while hanging upside down.
"Up here Rouge!"
Rouge looked up and then camouflaged with the tree trunk as the Shapeshifters ran past her. She grabbed Tails' hands as he pulled her up.
But once he did, the Shapeshifters came back, growling at them from below.
"Y/N! Maria! Go save the others!" Tails said.
"But what about you!?"
"We'll keep them distracted. Now go!" Rouge said as you looked at Maria.
She didn't seem like she was in good shape to run so you used all of your strength to pick her up and start running.
Maria's power was almost gone but she used the last of it to open a portal door.
"In there. Hurry."
You quickly open the portal door and went inside. You sat Maria down and took a moment to breathe. Once you did, you widened your eyes as you saw the battle going on.
You began to use all of your courage and ran towards the scene. You also remembered the necklace that was controlling your friends.
You saw the fake Maria as she was watching with a grin. You glared at her and tackled her to the ground.
"Get off me!"
"I'm ending this nightmare!"
You grabbed the necklace and yanked it off her neck.
"No!"
You stepped on the necklace, breaking it as it started to glow brightly.
Everyone stopped what they were doing as the necklace opened a small portal. The blue trails began to leave the Shapeshifters as everyone held their heads in pain.
The fake Maria started to glow brightly as she screamed in pain, turning into a gem.
"No!"
You gasped loudly as The Outsider Leader ran towards you.
"How dare you interfere!"
Before he could grab you, you noticed that Shadow grabbed his fist, glaring at him.
"Don't you dare lay a finger on her."
"Shadow!"
Shadow smirked at you as the Outsider Leader growled at you.
"I will kill you!"
"Why are you still going after the Shapeshifters!? Why can't you just leave them alone!?"
He backed away and then turned away from you.
"You wanna know why? Fine. I wanted to get my revenge on Tikal. To show her the pain I have felt for years because of her."
"How do you even know Tikal?"
He looked at you and took off his hoodie.
You were shocked to see a male echidna with a gem on his head but it was cracked.
"Because I'm her twin brother, Tyler."
