12 Family Meeting

Gerald let Arryn in and offered him a drink. Gerald's father, Allen Quinn, was already there waiting. Arryn was eager to see his uncle and smiled as he sat next to him. "Water, please."

Gerald went and grabbed some water.

"Arryn, how did things go at TWC today," Allen asked his nephew.

"Uncle, it went much smoother than expected." Arryn answered, "It's just been... distracting being in my father's office with all of his things."

Gerald sat beside Arryn and placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, "You don't need to explain. "

Arryn knew that since his aunt had been murdered, his cousin could relate. Gerald missed his mother and could understand not wanting to explain things.

Allen slid over a file, "Arryn, this was something your parents asked me to hold, but it's yours now."

He recognized the symbol embossed on the cover. "Thank you, but my parents... the others... any more information... any leads?"

"Savage is not behind this. They were planning to intercept you, but after Cairo, not before."

Gerald and Arryn were surprised to learn their "nemesis" wasn't involved. "Well, Cairo has already been put on hold. As well as a few other projects. Too much risk to continue as business as usual," Arryn paused, "I believe we have someone betraying us from within. I will find them," Arryn scowled, tensing up a fist.

Allen had similar thoughts and concerns about someone being a traitor. Gerald wondered how this could be happening and from the inside.

"With you stepping up as CEO, Arryn, I know you will find the traitor," Allen explained.

Gerald nodded in agreement while Arryn sat quietly, figuring out his next step.

13 Not a Gangster

It had become a very long day. Castor dragged himself to his dorm room. He made it to class, but just barely so. He was excited about working with Arryn.

Still, it was a lot of pressure to do a good job and not let Arryn down. Things with Arryn have been like a whirlwind. In just a few days, so much happened in their lives that it was inevitable for a special bond to have formed. This bond motivated Castor to do even better at his job to show how special Arryn is to him.

His dream of traveling and working in the field as an archeologist would come true. Graduation was just around the corner, and he would have got his master's. Then began work on his doctorate. Just then, his mind drifted to Arryn. He knew deep in his heart and soul that he was falling in love. They were kindred spirits. For once, he felt connected to someone.

Arryn knew what it was like to have parents but still felt alone. Not quite part of a family. Feeling more like an observer trying to fit in. Sure, there was love, but a familiarity was missing. There was a disconnect that no one else had ever understood until now.

Castor was relieved to be alone when he got home. He wasn't sure how to tell his friend about today, let alone his weekend with Arryn. There was no way he could talk to them about celestials.

They would think he was crazy. Hell, he would have thought it was crazy, but he saw Arryn and his magnificent wings.

He wondered if he had wings, too, but would wait for Arryn's help. The thought comforted Castor.

Hoping to get some sleep, Castor changed and crawled right into bed. Of course, that was when Corey returned.

"Oh, you are here tonight," chimed Corey.

Grumbling Castor said, "Yes, but this weekend I won't be here."

"Hey, I'm sorry for teasing. I am happy for you. I also am curious about this mystery man. However, I won't bother you to find out."

Castor sat up in his bed, "Corey, I'm still trying to wrap my mind around everything."

Corey sat down, pulling up a chair by Castor, "We have been dorm mates for a few years now. I always thought that you and Ryan would end up together."

Rubbing his face, Castor sighed, "That's complicated... I mean, Ryan and I have been friends since grade school. We have very different goals in life."

Nodding, "True, so this other guy, I take it, have similar goals."

Castor chuckled. "Possibly, and he is so handsome. He also treats me with respect and cares about my opinion and boundaries."

"Ah, Ryan does seem to not care too much, and by that, I mean he tends to assume he knows what you need or wants without paying much attention to what you really think," Corey explained.

Castor was surprised, "You noticed that, too?"

"I just thought you didn't mind," Corey shrugged.

"I guess I did but rationalized it," shrugged Castor, "...convinced myself it was ok."

"So, does this guy you like have a name... What's he like?" Corey asked.

"Well... his name is Arryn...Quinn and... "

Corey recognized the name, "Wait, Dr. Quinn, like the Executive Director of Operations of TWC."

Castor nodded, grinning sheepishly.

"You actually met him. Was it because of your internship there?"

"Funny story there... We never crossed paths at work. I met him at the event that Ryan asked me to help with."

"No way!"

"Yeah, but I didn't realize who he was until today at work..." Castor tried to explain.

"I guess that could happen; not recognize him. It's not like he ever makes public appearances, nor is he ever photographed much," Corey realized.

"So, it was Arryn that Ryan saw you with, not some gangster." Corey laughed, "Wow... and I take it you won't be here this weekend because you will be with him." Cory got up from the chair and started to get ready for bed.

"That is correct!" Castor answered with a coy smile. He was looking forward to the weekend.

Even though Castor was truly exhausted after work and school, he couldn't fall asleep. He thought of Arryn and wondered if he was asleep. Checking his phone, Castor saw the texts Arryn had left for him while he had been in class. He was tempted to text Arryn and see if he was still awake. But he was not wanting to disturb his sleep or come across as clingy.

------------------------------------

Arryn was tossing and turning in bed, wondering how Castor was doing. He kept checking his phone hoping Castor would text him. Castor's scent from his cologne remained in the sheets making Arryn miss having Castor beside him at night.

"So, it was Arryn that Ryan saw you with, not some gangster," Corey laughed, "Wow... and I take it you won't be here this weekend because you will be with him."

Cory got up from the chair and started to get ready for bed.

"That is correct!"
