Chapter 14 : Hues Assembly

Matapos makarating ng aming mga bisita ay nag-tungo na muna ang mga ito sa inihandang silid para sa kanila. Naiwan ako sa lobby samantala umalis na rin si Papa. I sighed, hindi ko gusto na mag-tipon-tipon ang Heads ngunit hindi iyon maiiwasan, lalo pa at maselan ang pangalang nakakabit sa isyu ngayon.

They're after each other's head after all.

"Asra." Tawag saakin ni Darwin.

Nilingon ko ito.

"Hinahanap ka ng Head." Anunsyo nito saakin, tumango naman ako bilang sagot.

Nag-simula na akong mag-lakad at nakasabay naman saakin si Darwin. Hindi ko alam ang rason kung bakit ako ipinatatawag ni Papa ngunit hinuha ko na may koneksyon ito sa kaganapan ngayon.

Habang nag-lalakad ay natigilan ako bigla ng maalala ang pag-dating ni Lady Cerise. Hindi ko inaasahan na siya ang dadalo para sa kaganapan ngayon. I expected that it would be her husband, Fenell. We already met at the Northern Region regarding the starvation but something feels wrong.

"Is something troubling my younger brother?" I stopped as soon as I heard my brother's voice.

His pisses me off.

"Kanus." I spoke.

"Do my presence still piss the hell out of you, little brother?" He smirked which made me frown.

"Fuck off." Tinalikuran ko na kaagad ito.

Wala akong oras para makipag-talo kay Kanus. He will just idly joke around.

"You're still cold to me." Hindi ko na ito nilingon.

"That toy of yours..." I immediately stopped after hearing him utter those few words.

My rage went up, my eyes flickered and the next thing I knew, I already grabbed Kanus' neck, Darwin tried to stop me but he couldn't. Masama ang tingin ko sa aking kapatid ngunit hindi nawawala ang ngisi nito sa kaniyang labi kaya lalo akong nakaramdam ng galit.

This goddamn Kanus Azure sure is testing my patience. I hate to admit it but he's cunning. I never liked him even though he's my brother that's why I continuously avoided him but his personality just sucks. He pisses me off to the point where in I wanted to dry his blood. I've been holding back but him mentioning Averen and even pertaining her as a toy really got on my nerves.

On the outside, Kanus may just look like a silly happy go lucky guy but it's the opposite. He smiles at everyone and doesn't show the image that my father has. Mayroong mga nag-tataka kung anak ba talaga ni Papa si Kanus dahil sa pinakikitang ugali nito ngunit hindi nila kilala ang aking kapatid. Kanus is dangerous, he's not an idiot either.

"Hmm, base sa reaksyon mo, alam ko na kung anong meron." Tumatawang aniya.

"Don't call her a toy. Binabalaan kita, Kanus. Huwag mong subukang lapitan si Averen." I glared.

He chuckled.

"Damn it, you're whipped dear brother. How could I not mess with her when you're giving me that kind of reaction?"

"Just drop dead."

"I can't, I'm still pretty strong to die."

"What a shame."

"However, Asra, her blood..."

Mas lalong humigpit ang hawak ko sa leeg ni Kanus dahil sa sinabi nito, ngunit dahil din sa  ginawa ko ay nag-angat ng tingin sa akin ang aking kapatid. Mabilis ang nangyari, kung kanina ay siya ang hawak ko sa leeg, Kanus is now pinning me against the wall with his arms on my neck. I growled and tried to break free but he's strong.
