Evangeline hated what Hogwarts has become. D.A.D.A. was no longer Defense Against the Dark Arts, but just the Dark Arts, taught by yours truly, death eater Amycus Carrow.
Countless rumors were going on around the school about how Evangeline was a death eater, but nobody had any proof. It were all assumptions. Nobody knew where Harry was and Eva was always side by side with Draco Malfoy. Clearly, she's evil like Rita Skeeter had anticipated.
Draco and Eva sat together in the Slytherin common room, studying for the final N.E.W.T. exams when Professor Slughorn, the new head of Slytherin, entered abruptly. He announced that all students are to make their way to the Great Hall. No exceptions.
Evangeline leapt up from the leather couch as Draco rolls his eyes and slowly rises to his feet. She then takes his hand and they both quickly make their way to the Great Hall.
Disheveled students were lined amongst the large room along with the school ghosts, knights, and many other teachers, even people Eva didn't recognize. Like random adults.
Evangeline & Draco stood in front of Pansy & Blaise. Eva looked around the room, holding Draco's hand. She noticed many students looked terrified. She spots her brother wandering around the Gryffindor table, and her heart felt like it jumped out of her chest.
Everyone else's eyes were on Professor McGonagall, "...evacuation will be overseen by Mr. Filch and Madam Pomfrey. If you are of age, you may stay."
A girl from the Ravenclaw table called, "What about our things?!"
"We have no time to collect possessions." Said Professor McGonagall, "The important thing is to get you out of here safely. We have placed protection around the castle—"
Professor McGonagall's final words were drowned as a different voice echoed throughout the Great Hall. It was a high-toned, raspy voice. No one could tell where exactly it was coming from, it almost sounded like it were from the walls. "I know that you are preparing to fight."
Eva, without noticing, squeezed Draco's hand a little tighter at the recognition of the Dark Lord's voice.
"Your efforts are futile. You cannot fight me. I do not want to kill you. I have great respect for the teachers of Hogwarts. I do not want to spill magical blood."
Sicko.
The hall was now filled with silence.
"Give me Harry Potter." The voice continued, "and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave the school un-touched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded. You have until Midnight."
Silence painfully filled the room again. Pansy Parkinson broke it by pointing at Harry Potter and announcing, "What are you all waiting for?! He's there! Someone grab him!"
Evangeline let go of Malfoy's hand, whipped around, and punched Pansy in the face with all the force she could, causing the pug-faced girl to stumble backward as she held onto her now-bloody nose.
"Thank you, Miss Parkinson." Said Professor McGonagall in a clipped voice, "You will leave the Hall first with Madam Pomfrey. If the rest of your house could follow."
Slowly, the groups of houses emptied. Draco was about to exit the Great Hall, thinking Eva would go with her, but she stays put. "I'm staying."
He looks at her, puzzled.
"You aren't going to stay with me?" She asked.
"I can't."
She frowned, "You can, actually."
Draco stood there, staring at her.
"There's not much time. I'm not going to stand here and waste a bunch of time telling you about what a coward you'll be for fighting on his side. But that's the gist of it." She then walked away from Draco to go meet up with her brother.
