Chapter 40 Prom Night

Kasalukuyan akong umiinom ng strawberry oreo frappe sa Sweets N' Treats habang hinihintay ang mga kaibigan ko. Napag-usapan kasi naming magkita ngayon. As usual late na naman ang mga ito. I was about to go to the counter to order a slice of my favorite red velvet cake when I saw Lex with his so-called girlfriend Yvonne. I really don't like this girl. She's a fucking social climber. Kung nandito lang si Khrys baka kanina pa niya tinarayan ang babaeng ito.

"Hi Lex!" I smiled at him. At para naman hindi ako magmukhang queen bitch dito nginitian ko na rin yung Yvonne na ito. "Hello there too, Yvonne my dear." I gave her my most sincerest smile that I could but only my true friends know how plastic this smile can be.

"Omg! Hi Caylee! It's been so long since the last time I saw you!" medyo may pagkahyper na sabi nito saka nakipagbeso sa akin. I just rolled my eyes secretly. Really, this girl can be so annoying.

"Yeah, it's been a long time indeed." Malamyang sagot ko sa kanya. I faced Lex. "So, anong ginagawa niyo dito Lexy?"

Parang biglang tumigas ang anyo ni Lex ng tawagin ko siyang Lexy. I dunno. Must be my vivid imaginations. Imbes na si Lex ang sumagot sa tanong ko bigla na namang sumingit yung mukhang tinikling niyang jowa.

"Isn't obvious? We're actually on a date. It's our 3rd monthsary!" Medyo napangiwi na lang ako sa sinabi niya. I let out an exasperated sigh and faced Lex. I smiled at them sweetly. "Really? I'm happy for the both of you!"

Lex gave me his cold façade while his girlfriend giggled like a stupid lovesick puppy. Alam kong alam ni Lex na hindi namin gusto para sa girlfriend niyang mukhang anorexic sa sobrang payat. I made an innocent face.

"Hey bhes! What's up?" I saw Colz, Marge and Kate walking to us. I almost thank the gods. Finally, nandito na rin sila.

"Oohh, nandito din pala kayo Lex? Fancy meeting you two here." Kate said while smiling at them. That smile though. I looked at Colz and she knowingly smirked at me. I know what she is thinking. Kate is really a good actress.

"Yeah. The feeling is mutual. It's also good to see all of you here." He smiled drily. "As much as I love to be with your company but I think we got to go." Tinanguan niya lang kami at nauna ng maglakad habang naiwan naman ang girlfriend niya.

"Hey Lex baby, wait for me!" nagmamadaling hinabol nito ang huli. Nang mawala sila sa aming paningin bigla na lang kaming bumunghalit ng tawa bukod syempre kay Marge na nangingiti lang. Sa aming walong magkakaibigan si Marge ang pinakamabait.

I tapped Kate's shoulder. "Your acting was very convincing, Kate." She just shrugged her shoulders. Ngumiti lang din ito sa akin.
