Couple of years back, we had no regrets
Laughter and silly stories surrounded our lives
Back then, we were just kids
And in a hurry to grow up.
However right now,
Things are not how they seemed
We just want to go back in time
We wish we weren't in such a hurry.
We grew up, we became teenagers
And right now, we are in such confusion
Jumping over hurdles of life and
Dodging all troubles that seem to follow.
It seems like a century back
But, no it's just a few years ago
When we used to be each other's support
Right now, we are anything but that.
Why did you push us away?
Why are you now a stranger?
How did this happen?
Are questions that run across our minds.
Today, I see you
You're no longer who I knew
Yet, I do know you
'Cause we weren't friends for years, to be just thrown away.
Our little gang misses you
We wish you'd come back
With you, we are complete
Right now, we feel so incomplete.
The parties, the games and silly tricks
Are painful memories right now
You taught us how to blow bubbles from bubble gum
And we remember the times we raced each other to the corner shop.
These memories wouldn't have been possible without you
We know it's silly, talking about primary school
Yet, that time was one of the best in our life
We want you back, childhood friend.
Seeing you in trouble
Clenches at our heartstrings so
We cannot do anything
Because you don't want us to help.
We tried to be stubborn
But it took us nowhere
Someday, someday we hope against hope
You'll come back and make us feel whole again.
Dear Readers,
This is for a very special friend of mine. Sammi, we miss you; we were friends for a long time- Tabs, Amy, H and I miss you so much and we don't like seeing you do this to yourself. You may have drifted apart but still you are one of us and want you back. I am glad I still get to talk to you, I know that I could do so because I wasn't here for a long time but I do wish you'd become our friends again.
A gang of friends is incomplete when one drifts away...primary school and high school are different and we meet different friends and some drift away but losing your childhood friends is really painful and seeing them in trouble is just awful....
Have you lost any of your childhood friends? Hope not! =)
