"Since when?" Nabi questioned Jackson coldly who frowned in confusion while taking a seat on the small couch.
"What do you mean?" He inquired back. "The lady at your firm, Jackson! I saw you both kissing in the parking lot today!" Nabi said while tearing up.
Jackson sighed and looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about." He denied. Nabi scoffed and let out a sarcastic chuckle.
"I sacrificed so much for you. Yet you proved that you're an ungrateful man. The three years we spent together meant absolutely nothing to you?" She questioned throwing her head back on the seat.
"Look Nabi. The three long years we spent, you became a really important person in my life. You were like my best friend, my sister but I can't think of you as a wife. We don't even share the same bedroom and never even kissed each other." Jackson uttered while doing random hand gestures.
Tears continuously streamed down Nabi's face, she shut her eyes. "Sister? How is she any different than me?" Nabi asked.
Jackson gave her a poker face and spat, "She's attractive, charming, successful, and a strong woman. Unlike you!"
Nabi opened her eyes and sat up. She had to stand up for herself. "Jackson, get out of here, this instant!" She spat in rage. Jackson immediately got up from the couch and went to his room.
After a while he came out with a suitcase and took his jacket and car keys from the rack, and stormed out of the apartment without any hesitation.
Nabi on the other hand broke down completely. She folded her knees on the couch and started crying while hugging her knees, burying her face into the knees on the go.
AFTER A WHILE
"Aww, my baby it's alright!" Joy hugged Nabi as soon as she opened the door of her apartment. "Joy, you were right about him." Nabi hugged her back.
"As soon as you called me I knew something was wrong. I can't let you be alone in this state so I had to rush here." Joy said getting inside the flat with Nabi still crying over her chest.
She kept her bag on the couch made Nabi sit on it as well and went to the kitchen. She returned with a bowl and a spoon in her hands and placed them on the coffee table. She took out the bags of chips from her bag and a Nutella jar as well. She gave the jar to Nabi. She started bawling dramatically.
"Don't worry, honey! When a boy dumps you, junk food embraces you. Let's get this shit!" Joy cheered Nabi.
The rest of the evening was spent Nabi ranting about her love for Jackson and how he cheated on her suddenly on their third marriage anniversary and left her to abase. Meanwhile, Joy was cursing him with all the swear words she had in store.
NEXT MORNING
"I'm going to bring him back!" Nabi screeched while standing on the couch. Joy shook her head in disbelief. After the whole night, crying Nabi decided that she can't give up on him. Since Jackson was her first love. She'll bring him back!
"And after being degraded by him, what makes you think like that?" Joy snickered at her. Nabi swiftly held Joy's shoulders and shook her body vigorously.
"The women in my family. They have all led an unhappy life because they didn't marry their first love." Nabi said and Joy fused her eyebrows at the ridiculous remark.
"What bullshit is this?" Joy questioned. Nabi nodded her head and sat beside her on the couch. "Yes, my great grandmother, my grandmother, my mother all of them. They had miserable lives. My great-grandfather cheated on my great-grandmother. After my mother's birth, my grandfather died in an accident and left my grandmother by herself. My mother died while giving birth to me. All because they didn't marry their first love. Only Aunt Sol married her first love and look how happy she is right now. I can't give up on Jackson. I can't live an unhappy life." Nabi exclaimed.
Nabi's phone suddenly started ringing on the coffee table and both of their gazes turned to it. Nabi grabbed her phone and her eyes widen. She quickly received the call and held the phone to her ears.
"Hello, Aunt Sol. Good morning!" Nabi greeted her. "Good morning to you, Princess! I just called you to ask if we can come over to your place on the weekend itself then we can spend more time together." Her aunt cheered.
Nabi realized that she can't invite them over because the reason she invited them had just left the apartment last night.
"Aunt, actually about that... I have to replace a worker so I won't be at home next week. I'm so sorry but maybe we can fix a date later and meet up. I'll inform you of the date soon. Okay, bye!!" Nabi said all at once and hung up on her.
She looked to Joy and announced. "I'm going to get him back! I'm getting Jackson back!"
On the other hand, Aunt Sol flinched the way Nabi just canceled the plan suddenly and abruptly hung up on her. She looked at her husband.
"She suddenly canceled the plan." Aunt Sol said. "That's strange. What will we do now?" Uncle Seo asked her.
"I felt like she was hiding something from us. I'm worried about her." Aunt said. "I am as well. She rarely calls us and never invited us over. After so many years she finally invited us but suddenly canceled it. Something is wrong. We need to check up on her. She like more like a daughter to us than just my niece." Uncle presses his concern.
"Book the tickets, we are going to Seoul next month," Aunt said and Uncle nodded.
AFTER A WHILE
Nabi was standing in front of the Park Foundation Headquarters. She held onto her bag straps and smiled cheerfully.
"I'm here to make my life happy. I can't live a miserable life like my family. I have to write my fate myself." She fisted her hand in the air and yelled.
"Let's go and get this love!"
