21: I'll be with you forever

"What are you talking about?" Nabi asked looking away from him.
"Let me help you. Take your time. You don't need to answer this right now. But please place yourself over everyone else." He said while locking her hand with his.

Nabi looked down at their hands and thought deeply about her relationship with Jackson.
I'm holding on to pieces of us that I just can't let go of. I know this is a desperate kind of love but now it's time to let it go.
Nabi looked up at Jimin and nodded her head.

"I will work on loving myself. I will do it, Jimin. Thank you for telling this to me." She squeezed his hand tightly and smiled at him.

A tear rolled down her eye but Jimin smiled before wiping it away carefully.
"You got me, I got you. In the pitch-black nights, we will be each other's light." Jimin said while staring deeply at her.

Nabi hugged him tightly, wrapping her arms around his neck. He chuckled before hugging her waist and burying his head in the crook of her neck.

"Now come on, lazy butterfly. Time to sleep, get back to your room." He said on her neck and Nabi nodded her head.

NEXT MORNING

Jackson entered Nabi's cabin and she looked up at him. He placed the file in front of her. Nabi smiled bitterly and looked up at him.

"Looks like you are prepared for this." She said while taking the file in her hands and opening it.

"I have signed it already. You just put in your signature and we are done for." He said and Nabi nodded.

She signed it at the required places after reading and handed him the file. He gave her another copy to sign to keep one for herself.

Jackson turned to move out of her cabin but stopped. He looked at her who didn't look up at him.

"I'll always be grateful to you, Nabi. Thank you so much for being my friend and sacrificing everything for me." He said before leaving.

Nabi sighed deeply before standing up on her feet and going toward Yeonjun's desk. "Jun, dinner at 7?" She said and he nodded. She smiled at him.

She went to Jimin's cabin and knocked on his door before opening it. She poked only her head inside the room and saw Jimin smiling at her. She opened the door and went to him.

"Dinner with the others at 7?" She questioned him and he kissed his teeth and tilted his head. He was pretending to think for a while but then giggled at her.

"Of course. Let's do it at my place. I'll arrange the food." He said and Nabi clapped her hands. She thanked him and went out.

Nabi dialed a number on her phone and held it near her ear waiting for the person to pick it up.

"Joy, I'm celebrating my independence and my first divorce at Jimin's house tonight at 7. Nobody knows the real reason for the celebration besides us. So just drop in at his place. At least I'll have someone who knows my secret while I celebrate it."

LATER IN THE EVENING

"When did she get so close with Yeonjun?" Jimin mumbled in annoyance while striding towards them playing games on his TV.

He snatched the controller from Nabi's hands and she whined. "Ahh... Why?"

"Change your clothes and then you can sit here. Yeonjun, get something comfortable to wear from my closet. You're not staying in here so choose something that you can wear back home." Jimin warned him as Yeonjun pouted at him.

The doorbell rang and Yeonjun ran towards it.

"Come on. Get up and change." Jimin said pulling Nabi up from the sofa. Nabi whined and glared at him.

"Here! I got something to drink for us." Joy said while entering the living room with two bags in her hands.

"We are getting drunk tonight, girl!" Joy squealed and Nabi screamed as well. Meanwhile the two boys were looking at them in horror.

AFTER THREE HOURS

"I want another glass!" Nabi slammed her hands and slurred, suddenly moving her head up from the table.

The two girls were completely wasted. The boys on the other hand weren't drunk at all.

"Jimin, what are you most afraid of?" Joy randomly asked him moving her head up from the table.

"Love." He shortly replied while staring at Nabi, who giggled at him.

"Huh? You're afraid of falling in love?" Nabi slurred in confusion but Jimin smiled while shaking his head.

"I'm afraid to be the only one falling." Jimin replied while looking at Nabi with painful expressions. Nabi pouted at him and Yeonjun sighed deeply and shook his head.

Suddenly, Joy cupped Nabi's face and giggled at her. "You know I used to scare all the guys in the school away from you because I liked you. But I was straight so I couldn't confess!" Joy started bawling while Jimin choked on his noodles.

"But I'm straight as well. So two straight lines either intersect or move parallel. Which one were we?" Nabi slurred again.

"Intersecting ones. But do you know I like that guy these days?" Joy giggled while pointing at Yeonjun.

Now it was his turn to choke on his food.

"You're cheating on me? You too? You just now confessed your love for me and now you're confessing to him in front of me?" Nabi frowned at her.

"Baby, you're my first forever. Whenever you're down, just give me a call. I'm up for it." Joy said hugging Nabi.

"Aww... I love you, my best friend." Nabi mumbled in her neck. "Don't say, prove it!" Joy said and cupped her cheeks to bring it close to her face.

Joy closed her eyes, pouted her lips, and was leaning towards Nabi's lips when both the boys got up and freed them from each other.

"Separate them at any cost. Just take her to Nabi's room." Jimin said and Yeonjun nodded.

"Come on, babydoll! Let's put you to sleep." He said before lifting Joy's body and carrying her to the room.

"Now, since your best friend is taken care of. Let's tuck you to bed." Jimin said before lifting Nabi from the chair and taking her to his bedroom.

"Hey, Jimin-ie! You're so cute. You take care of me so much. You're like my Christmas gift. Pui pui~" She said while poking his cheeks.

"Yeah, yeah! Thank you so much for your kind remarks. I'm on cloud nine!" Jimin mocked her while laying her on the bed.

"You sleep here. I'm sleeping on the couch outside." He said and covered her with the duvet.

He sat at the edge of the bed while admiring her. He sighed deeply before tucking a few strands of her hair behind her ears.

"Sleep well, baby." He said and stood up trying to leave the room.

Suddenly, Nabi gripped the hem of his shirt and pulled it towards her. He fell beside her and gasped loudly.

Nabi blinked her eyes at him while he took a deep gulp. Her eyes began to water and Jimin panicked.

"Don't disappear, please." Nabi softly let it out.

Jimin looked at Nabi with a painful expression and caressed her cheeks. He smiled warmly before speaking.

"I won't. I'll be with you forever."
