29: We are over

AFTER A FEW DAYS

Nabi was setting the breakfast Jimin made on the dining table when Jimin approached her.

"Nabi why don't you actually move in with me? I mean we are dating now and I respect your decision to take things slowly. But I miss you even if I can't see you for a second." He whined and Nabi smiled at his clinginess.

"But you will help me with packing things and moving in here." She said. His face lit up like a firework at her response.

He stepped forward and in a moment of pure ecstasy, he hugged her. Nabi too wrapped her arms around him.

His jaws rested on the crown of her head, one of his hands wrapped around her back and the other one around her head.

Their bodies fit perfectly as if it were carved to be together.

"I want to stay like this forever," Jimin mumbled. "Okay now let's go we will be late for the meeting." She said while chuckling and pulled away from his clutch.

Jimin groaned at the sudden loss of her warmth but gave in eventually.

AT OFFICE

Nabi, Jimin, and Yeonjun were walking toward the meeting room. "Today's project is with Kyobo House?" Yeonjun asked and Nabi nodded.

"But why are we collaborating with another house? Isn't it the rival company?" She questioned. Jimin nodded slightly.

"They are but the writer wanted us to work on his new book together. We are the best two publishing houses in Korea and he has written this book after 15 years of hiatus so he wants the best for his comeback. Instead of choosing one, he chose both of us to work together and the CEO of Kyobo agreed as well." Jimin said and the other two nodded.

"Bro, let's go and grab a drink later," Yeonjun suggested. "Fuck off!" Jimin said and turned to Nabi.

"Should we go to your apartment to pack your things?" Jimin questioned her softly and she nodded with a smile plastered on her face.

Yeonjun looked at him in amazement. "You talk with her so softly. What revenge are you taking on me to behave so rudely with me?" He asked Jimin in annoyance.

"Shut up and let's go in," Jimin replied to him coldly but was trying to hide the faint smile on his lips.

"Sometimes I want to be a girl. And seduce him in front of everyone." He whispered to Nabi and she giggled.

All of them entered the meeting room and took their seats. Nabi was sitting between Jimin and Yeonjun. The representatives of Kyobo sitting on either side.

She looked up and her eyes enlarged. Jackson was staring at her with a sinister look and a wicked grin plastered on his face.

Nabi looked down at her paper works uncomfortably. She tried her best to look professional throughout the meeting but the constant glare that Jackson was passing him wasn't helping her at all.

She was silently taking down all the notes of the meeting and Jimin, Yeonjun, the CEO of Kyobo and the marketing assistant of Kyobo were the only ones speaking. Jackson and Nabi were silent throughout the meeting.

"Thank you, Mr. Park. We have a photographer so we will send you photographs for the cover page. Then your designer can do the rest. Hope this project will go well." He said, extending his hands for a handshake. Jimin shook his hand and greeted him.

"I am talking with the CEO for a while. You and Yeonjun can go to the nearby McDonalds for the lunch. I'll join you there." Jimin whispered in Nabi's ears and she nodded.

Nabi quickly pulled Yeonjun towards her and dragged her out. Yeonjun also followed her without complaining.

"Jimin said to wait at McDonald's," Nabi informed him and he nodded. They walked out of the building and were going to Mcdonald's but right outside of the outlet Yeonjun halted.

"Nabi wait here. I forgot my phone in the meeting room. Wait here and don't go anywhere. Don't talk to anyone." He said and ran away back to the building.

Nabi sighed and unlocked her phone to pass the time but a notification caught her eye.

Meet me in front of the restroom after the meeting. We need to talk.

Nabi looked at it but didn't respond to the message. She locked it and waited for Yeonjun.

Her phone slipped off her hand and she crouched down to pick it up but someone else picked it up.

"Thank-" She stopped when she saw Jackson smirking at her holding the phone in his hand. She looked away when he spoke.

"I am jealous of you. You get everything your way just by showing off your angelic personality." He mocked her.

Nabi scoffed and said. "I am not in the mood. Give me that." She tried to reach for her phone but he pulled it back.

Nabi glared at him. "Why didn't you come in front of the restroom?" He asked and Nabi sighed.

"Just because." She responded looking away from him. Jackson scoffed and looked at her darkly.

"Just because?" He said and smashed her phone on the ground. Nabi flinched and looked at him in horror.

"What are you doing?" She asked him in fear. "Are you trying to provoke me?" He barked and Nabi looked at him in bewilderment.

"Just continue to be all smitten with me like you have always been!" He screamed at him.

"We are over!" Nabi said calmly trying to hold in her tears. "What?" He asked while tilting his head.

"I want to stop liking you. You said that you are irritated and disgusted by me." She said looking at him with dark eyes as well.

Jackson blinked and cleared his throat. "That was just-" His words were interrupted by Nabi.

"One-sided love isn't only torturous to the one doing it. It is also painful for the one on the receiving end. I am sorry for everything and thank you.

Thanks to you I realized how good of a man Jimin really is and how much time I wasted on something useless." She said and walked past him.

But he harshly gripped her wrist. "Yu Nabi!" He screamed and tightened his hold on her. "Take back what you just said!" He growled at her.

Nabi winced in pain and tried to hold his arm to get out of his grip but he was much stronger.

"Jackson let go!" She said and saw the other passer's by looking at them strangely.

Suddenly a harsh punch landed on Jackson's face. Nabi turned to see a furious Jimin and Yeonjun standing.

Jimin was close to her meaning that he was the one who punched Jackson who was now grunting in pain while laying on the ground.

Jimin came over to Nabi and hugged her. She buried her face in his chest and started crying miserably.

He gently stroked her hair and caressed her back to provide her the comfort and warmth she was in need of at the moment.

Yeonjun walked over to Jackson on the ground and kicked his stomach. Then he said something which made Nabi pull out of Jimin's embrace in shock.

"How dare you hurt her, huh? I thought you were the one who divorced her yourself. So what makes you think that you can behave like that with my best friend?"
