I didn't expect them to have already enrolled me in their school, so I was already running late on my first day, and not only that, but I had to drop Albert off to his preschool teacher because Raine had to go to work early and Eda, just wouldn't wake up, grabbing a piece of toast and shoving it into my mouth, making sure to chew vigorously so I wouldn't choke. I looked over, finding a half-asleep Albert, his shoes on the wrong feet and in knots instead of tied.
I quickly took them off placing them on the right feet and tied them making sure they wouldn't come undone "eww, I'm being a parental figure," I thought to myself, I began grabbing his backpack and the lunch Raine had prepared for us, putting it in his chase lunchbox, strapping it to his paw patrol bookbag and slinging them both over my shoulder "okay okay, I have 15 minutes to get him there and 20 to get to Hexside."
I thank God I got a motorcycle with a seat for kids. Strapping him in and putting a smaller helmet on him and giving him a cover, since it was pretty chill out, I started the drive to the school.
I was thankful that kids were still coming in when I pulled up, unbuckling his seatbelts and carrying him into the school. "Here, I need you to hold onto this. I'm not sure if I'll be picking him up or not, so just keep it here," I told the woman, handing her the car seat that had latched onto my bike. She quickly put it away, taking him from my arms as I put his bookbag in his cubby, giving him a kiss bye when I saw another girl about my age dropping off a kid.
She seemed to be in a rush too. I swirled my keys in my hand as I put my helmet on and started my bike, loving the sound of it coming to life, not meaning to but popping a wheelie as I left.
When I got there, it was quiet as hell. There weren't any cars in the student parking, not even any buses. I parked my motorcycle close to the exit of the school in case I needed to rush to pick up Albert, making sure to put a lock over my tire so no one could steal it, but I highly doubted I needed it since it wouldn't move without the keys.
Making my way inside, or at least trying to, I realized the doors were locked. Looking around, I saw a button, pressing it to see if it would let me in. "Who is it?" I looked over, "Um hi, I'm new here." There was silence for a moment before the door buzzed "Come on in." I opened the door, hearing it click shut. The person who I assumed let me in was waiting at the end "Come in here so we can file your paperwork." That made me think of the slug lady from Monsters, Inc.
She acts like it too. I had to keep myself from laughing as I sat there waiting to get my schedule. "Principal Bump will have someone escort you through the school so you're not lost," she said, handing me two pieces of paper. "Have each teacher sign this and bring it back here. I expect it to be done or else you'll have to pay for your own books and whatever you get the memo." Taking them, I smiled, "Thanks"
"Ah you must be Ms. Noceda, I'm principal bump." He extended his hand towards me, which I just looked at. "Oh my apologies." He took his hand away, smiling, and said, "Right this way, I have one of my top students showing you around." he said, turning towards the door.
I rolled my eyes. She must be some stuck-up nerd. Following him out, I saw a girl on her phone scrolling away. Her hair was in a tight ponytail and she was chewing on what looked to be gum.
I hate it when I'm right; she looked like one of those stuck-up princesses. Yeah, I have a style, but it's more on the bad boy side because that's what I am: a bad boy.
She must have seen us, she finally putting her phone up and her chewing came to an instant stop. "Amity, this is Luz. She's the new kid I've talked to you about." I raised an eyebrow, "Excuse me what?" He turned to me and said, "Oh, I told her about you coming and to just give you a tour."
I looked at him and sighed. Great, I thought in my head before I opened my mouth, "Sorry, I just don't need anyone to know me here. I'm not here to make friends or whatever, just here to graduate and get out. Let's go. I don't need interdictions just where my classes are." I said, signing for her to follow me before I shoved my hands in my pockets. She didn't argue and, to my surprise, was silent the whole way through, which I appreciated but didn't show it.
Amity's pov
My alarm woke me up blaring and what would make today even more great is because Boscha left her little brother here asking if I could take him to his daycare, so I was in a major rush to get Beau up, which made him throw a fit and not want to get dressed. "Beaufort James, if you go not get yourself ready, I will not take you to get ice cream anymore!"
I said, making him finally listen. I hate waking up for school knowing I had to work right after. I couldn't take a long-lasting shower like I've always done, enjoying the heat on my skin. Instead, I had to take a cold one, making me get in and out without any hesitation whatsoever.
I pouted as I ruffled his hair, making him chuckle just a bit. I was always good with kids, even if they weren't my own responsibility. I grabbed his bag, which Boscha left there as well, along with his chocolate milk that he couldn't live without or he'd die.
I didn't have his car seat; it wasn't as if he would sit in it anyway, so I just buckled his seatbelt and got in my car, starting it heading to the daycare, making all the correct turns, even if I was going a tiny bit over the speed limit. I wasn't perfect all the time and this shows it. I couldn't imagine the look on my mom's face if I brought home a speeding ticket.
To my surprise, I liked her mode of transportation; she must have seen me looking because she started her engine and popped a wheelie immediately heading towards Hexside; I knew she was the girl principal bump told me about.
"Ah, how's my star student this fine morning?" said principal bump as I arrived."What is it you want, sir?" he frowned. "Ugh, I hate how you can read this old man like an open book." I smiled. "Well, I have been going to Hexside since I was young." He nodded. "You remember that kid I told you about who is moving here?"I nodded my head, "You think you could show her around?" I stopped, "But I would be missing out on my studies!" He smiled, "I will excuse you for the day if you do this and will personally brag to your parents about your grades and studies."
I looked at him thinking of the outcome if he did that I would have at least some freedom from books and homework "Ugh fineee" we walked to the office him walking in I just stood there getting my phone out to scroll through pensta seeing the new posts Boscha had made hearting them and commenting on a few things as I popped a peice of chewing gum in my mouth.
After a few minutes principal bump came walking out I put my phone up so he knew he had my full attention "Amity this is Luz she's the new kid I've talked to you about" i looked over to see the girl her eyebrow raised "Excuse me what?" Principal bump turned to her speaking "Oh I told her about you coming and to just give you a tour"
She looked at him and sighed before she started to speak "Sorry I just don't need anyone knowing me here I'm not here to make friends or whatever just here to graduate and get out, lets go I don't need interdictions just where my classes are" she said pushing past me and the principal motioning for me to follow before I shoving her hands in her pockets. I rolled my eyes 'think of the outcome Amity' I said in my head as we walked to each class we never said a word.
