Today was sports day not one of my favorites if I'm being honest but Luz seemed to be pumped up about it she also keeps reminding me that my birthday is literally in a few more days it was odd that she actually remembered my birthday

I watched from the side lines as they played basketball I wasn't good at basketball now soccer I can play since I used to before I injured my leg "seems like Luz is really killing it out there" I looked over to see the coach "Yeah she's very athletic" she hummed "Think she'll think about joining either basketball or football?" I shrugged my shoulders "That's just something you'll have to ask her"

She patted my back a little too hard for my liking but that's just how she's was. Coach like to work out at gyms from time to time how do I know that?

My dad went to one to get more fit since he was becoming a couch potato and wasn't too happy about it and we saw her there bench pressing I ended up doing a complete circle and out the door to stay in the car while he did his work out

I heard the whistle blow signaling for them to stop the game as I saw Luz approach me she was out of breath and was sweaty "hey.. blight" she said in-between breathes "hey seems like your killing it out there" she smirked "Nah I'm just competitive" I chuckled "So what does miss blight want for her birthday?" I pushed her shoulder while she chuckled "I'm being serious!!" I threw a towel at her face "before you ask me about that why don't you go take a shower"

She put her hand on her chest acting as if she was offended

"jeez the twins are turning you into them you should hand out with them less" I said playfully

"Why so you can keep me all to yourself?" I blushed

"uhh"

She laughed while she put the towel around her neck

"I'm playing blight"

I just shook my head ignoring my inner self screaming

"Hey Luz you up for another round?"

We both turned seeing a female slightly taller than me twirling a basketball on her finger

"I don't think I can play another round jessie, I'm all out of battery"

Luz said while plopping down on the bleachers

The girl gave a pout

"pleeaasee I haven't seen anyone ever get close to the rim like you did"

Luz sighed but gave in patting her leg as if she was checking something

"okay let's go"

I sighed as I went to the locker rooms why did I feel so defeated so lost when she wasn't around that shouldn't be normal I heard the announcements come on

"Attention students in a few minutes we will practice a lockdown drill please get to the designated area once the whistle is sounded."

I sighed knowing my peace was about to be interrupted and within seconds the teachers begun blowing at their whistles as if there was a real intruder

"Okay kids in the rooms y'all know the drill!"

I looked to see Luz she looked pale?

Luz pov
I made sure that I had my inhaler on me which I did even if I liked playing basketball and all types of sports my lungs hate me and I couldn't blame them I would hate me too..

I felt my chest getting tight after a few minutes and was about to tell Jessie I needed a break but the intercom came on telling us we were doing a practice intruder drill, making me somewhat sigh in relief, my chest grew tighter.

I needed to use my inhaler soon.

"Alright boys and girls you know the drills keep your mouth shut!

I closed my eyes trying to gain the breath I lost, but it wasn't really working, i felt a hand hold my arm and someone grew close to my ear.

"Are you okay? You look a bit pale"

it was Amity I nodded some but knew I had to get out of here

"Help me get out of here before I pass out"

As soon as I let the words pass out, Amity made way for us to a sucluded area

"Is this okay?"

I nodded reaching into my pocket and telling Amity to turn away from me

She tilted her head to the side but didn't argue as I put my inler to my lips and breathed in feeling the relief

I turned to see Amity still turned around and I couldn't help the thoughts that ran through my mind

I assumed she sensed my eyes on her since she turned her head some her eyes meeting mine

"Is everything okay Luz?"

I nodded, I couldn't make decisions for my myself nor could I control what my body was doing

All I could do was watch as my body moved closer to Amity's

She stood still not moving as I came closer to her my hand reaching up to her face

"You're hands cold"

I smiled at the response as I felt myself leaning in closely but was quickly interrupted with my phone ringing loudly making us part

"I assume you need to take that?"

I nodded kissing her forehead without realizing it

"It's probably eda"

Amity nodded as she started to walk off feeling happy her face a blushing mess as she did

Luz on the other hand was anything but that she was disappointed at the name she saw on her phone.

Audrey.

I quickly picked up the phone

"What?"

I heard a scoff

"Is that any way to speak to your girlfriend?"

I rolled my eyes letting out some air I was holding in

"What do you need Audrey?"

She didn't sound like she liked that either but I didn't care all that much

"I need you to come help me with a mission I am not very skilled in this kind of work like you are"

Without thinking I instantly hit the end button

"You're not dragging me down into your petty heists anymore, I have things to lose now."

I said to myself as I put my phone on 'do not disturb' and walked out of the what I assumed was the locker rooms seeing Amity was setting right there waiting like a patient puppy

"Come on, let's get out of here"
