Amitys pov
Ever since Luz saw her old friends, she's been distant. I mean, I get it, but she doesn't have to do this alone. "Hey Willow, Gus, come here a sec." I said. Luz was still walking, most likely on autopilot. "What's up Ames?" Willow asked me, crossing her arms afterwards, "If it's okay with you guys, could you guys go to maybe the sweet shop or somewhere so I can talk to Luz?" I saw Willow smirk, which made me blush, but I hid it well, "Sure Ames, come on Gus."

I saw Willow chuckling with Gus. It made me smile that I had friends like them, but back to Luz. She needs me right now. I turned in her direction to see her looking at me with her eyebrow raised. I ran to catch up to her, "Want to go to one of my favorite places?" She looked back to where Gus and Willow once were. "Sure, I guess," she said, sticking her hands in her pockets. "One question, though," she said. I nodded as I led the way to my favorite spot. "Why did you send Willow and Gus away?" I shrugged. "Because I can, and there's nothing you can do about it," I said confidently until I felt a hand on my arm. "There is something I can do about it, Miss Blight, but I'll let you have your way."

There it was again, the butterflies dancing in my stomach. I decided to play along, "Why thank you, miss Noceda." This made her chuckle a bit as she got close to my face, "Where are you planning on taking me?" I smiled but felt my hand quiver. "Be patient, Luz. Besides, if I tell you now, it won't be a surprise now, will it? " I smirked, knowing she was curious. She shrugged her shoulders but then pulled me close to her, giving death glares in some people's direction.

Luz pov
This girl has mystery written all over her and it's got me more and more interested, but what I'm not interested in is the men that's been following us since she started walking with me. "Stay close to me," I said, remembering where I had placed my pocket knife in case of something like this. It was obvious she had no idea what was going on since she just looked back then up at me, "For what?" I side-eyed the men and put my hand on my knife, letting them know if they came near I'd be equipped with a weapon.

I smirked when they finally backed off but instantly felt a blush form on my face as I saw the position Amity and I were in. My arm was wrapped around her waist and her arms were against my chest.

"D-did I just get protective over someone I just met?!" I said in my head, my face going fully red. She backed up, "Hey, you okay?" I nodded dramatically, "yep, yes, just fine. Can we go to this famous spot of yours before I have a stroke?" I said all at once, making her laugh "Jeez, I didn't know you'd get defensive over a few body guards," she said, making me go stiff "B-body guards," I said, my voice cracking. This made her burst out in more laughter, making me blush but laugh with her.

"Come on, you goof ball, let's get going," I said as I gently pulled on her, and her smile never changed. In fact, she kept on smiling. "Oh yeah, question," she said. I hummed, "Why didn't you tell me about them? I looked like some protective boyfriend." I blushed. "What's so bad about that?" I said in a flirty tone, hoping she would catch on.. which she didn't. "Oh, I don't know, maybe because I just met you." I rolled my eyes, "I was joking, Luz," stopping some knowing we were here. "Why are you just standing in front of the bookshelf?" She asked

I smirked, knowing she wasn't pulling at a certain book, revealing the door behind the shelves. "Woahhh!" I chuckled at her excitement, "How did you know this was here?" She said, walking closer, "Well, maybe because my father and I built it." She looked at me with full eyes, the fullest I've ever seen them. "Golden retrievers girlfriend" I thought to myself. Before buring the thoughts and laying them to rest.

She walked in, making me hit the lights, "Dude, this is the coolest hideout I've ever seen." My eyebrow went up, "You've never had one?" She looked at me, then back down at the books I had. "We did but it just wasn't this good. We used things we stol- ahem borrowed to furnish it, and I would buy spray cans to spray paint the walls with my graffiti art."

This caught my attention. "You do graffiti art?" She looked up at me, then back down "Um yeah, sometimes" she said as she raised her hand to her neck. "Would you paint something on my wall if I went to get you some spray paint?" I asked.

I could tell she was thinking about it. "Anything specific?" I smiled, "Just my name?" I got a nod and a smirk, "That I can do easily, like child's play." I smiled as I got out some cans. We had planned on doing some graffiti in here but had no experience and I didn't want to make the place look trashy. "Where have you been all my life blight?" she said smirking, making me blush. She tossed me a mask but used her shirt to keep from inhaling the toxic fumes, making it lift just a bit. I turned my head getting on my phone

I didn't understand why Willow and Gus said they would be a little longer; something about an unfinished game of tag. I looked up to see Luz. She was so focused as she worked, making sure to slant the words of my name just a bit. Something in me pulled as she looked at me, making me nearly drop my phone. She quickly went back to work but not before smirking as she put her shirt back in place. I guess she was used to the fumes by now.

Taking my phone and going to my camera, I decided to take a photo of her, making sure my flash was off before doing so. As it took, I smiled. She was so cute. "If you got a free picture, then I want one too." She said now in front of me, making me jump. "W-what?"

She took my phone. "If you wanted a picture of us, you could have just asked me," she said, pulling me almost into her lap as she extended her arm for a picture. "Oh wait, take that off, can't avoid getting that cute smile of yours" I quickly removed it, causing a blush to appear on my face just before it died down. "Alright then, Amity, look up." I did as we both smiled.
