drunken dreams

Amitys pov
I had just finished brushing my teeth when I decided to lay down for bed the present still lay dormant near my bed I haven't wanted to open it. Maybe I should just throw it away I thought I sighed and closed my eyes feeling myself drift into sleep

*Bzzz* *Bzzzz*

I scoffed, God what did the twins want now I quickly unlocked my phone sliding the green button over still half asleep "Edric this better be good reasoning for waking me up in the middle of the night" I said as grouchy as I could I mean they knew better than to wake me up!

"Um hi, I'm not sure who Edric is but is this Amity blight by any chance?" I sighed "Speaking" I heard mumbling in the background "Hi uh we met earlier today and I was wondering if maybe I don't know if- youcouldcome pickupLuz?"

The last bit was spoken so fast I didn't understand it "What?" She sighed "Can you-" another sigh "Can you come pick up Luz she's really drunk and I didn't know who else to call" I groaned why mee "Yeah, yeah sure where are you guys located?" I said already putting on different clothes and my shoes "We are currently outside of a market I can't get luz to walk anymore" I rolled my eyes "Okay I'll be there soon"

Jenna's pov:
Luz was definitely drunk Jenna thought feeling a sense of guilt for allowing this to happen "Hey Luz amitys going to come pick you up okay?" Luz nodded and then scowled  "Jenna, where is she? Amity should be here by now. I can't believe she's late."

Jenna sighed "Luz, it's just a few minutes. Amity will be here soon. Relax, okay? I literally just got off the phone with her she's not the flash love" she just started to pout dramatically "I can't relax! She said she'd be here, and now she's not. It's not fair!" She said while kicking her legs some making Jenna think of a toddler throwing a tantrum.

Jenna just sighs again going to bend down in front of the girl "okay listen Luz, don't get all worked up over this. Give her a little time. I'm sure-"

She didn't get to finish her sentence because Luz interrupted her and started whining "But what if she doesn't come? What if she forgets about me?"

Okay now everything clicked for the girl Luz's song was about Amity "Luz, Amity is crazy about you. She wouldn't just forget about you. She's probably dealing with something." I said while I ran my fingers through her hair

Luz's eyes well up with tears, her lips trembling. Just as Jenna is about to say something, the front door opens, and Amity comes through, composed and slightly exasperated. She quickly goes to the latina "Luz, what are you thinking Jesus you reek of alcohol"

Luz jumps up, clumsily stumbling towards Amity, a mix of relief and adoration on her face. "Amity! Amity's here! Finally!" I chuckled Luz was such a kid at heart. Amity looks at Jenna, who simply shrugs, as if saying, "Don't ask."

Amity raised an eyebrow but didn't ask any further "Okay come on we need to get you home, Luz. You're not in a condition to be out right now. I'll give eda a call"

Luz pouts again, her eyes gleaming with puppy-like devotion. In the most childish voice she's ever heard Luz complains "But I don't wanna I want to stay with you, Amity! Please, please, please!" Amity's stern expression softens, and she sighs in resignation.

I sighed "Alright, alright. Just this once. Come on, let's go home."

Amity extends a hand towards Luz, who takes it gratefully. Amity tries to lead Luz towards the door, but Luz's legs give out, causing her to stumble and cling to Amity for support.

Luz giggles but doesn't move "Oopsie! I guess I've had too much fun tonight, huh?" I just roll my eyes smiling at her "Yeah, maybe just a little."

Together, with Amity guiding Luz, they walk towards the exit, Luz looking more like a lost puppy longing for its owner than ever before.
