Amitys pov
I noticed that luz was very passionate about her art and that her laugh was so adorable when we got her to laugh that is she usually didn't

She liked to be at my hip most of the time but would wonder off when she saw something that caught her eyes like now for example "Luz what is it your looking at?" She pointed with eyes looking like they had sparkles in them I looked over to see it was a black denim jacket with a red skull on the back she seemed to like it a lot as she was trying to fish out some money in her pocket but what I did know is I would see something I like as well that being Sally from nightmare before Christmas

I gasped as I ran inside the store "I've been looking for her for ages!" I looked at the store owner as Luz did her own shopping "How much would it be to get that plushie right there?" He looked at me "How much you got on ya?" I quickly got my wallet out taking out a 20 and handed to him "Is that enough?" He rolled his eyes and tossed it back "Sorry kid not enough" I saw Luz she patted my head and told me to go outside and wait with the group. I just nodded not even grabbing my 20 I already had jack and the rest of the characters I just needed her to complete the set

I sighed as I approached Willow "Hey what's wrong Ame's?" Gus looked over me "Where Luz?" I pointed in the store "I saw the one thing I needed to get to have all the nightmare before Christmas characters" Willow made a 'oh' shape with her mouth patting my back

Willows pov:

Amity seemed really bummed out "I'm sure you'll be able to find her before your birthday" I saw Luz she was holding a few things and quietly looked at me mouthing "When's her birthday?" I mouthed "Next week" I saw her quick stuff the stuff she had in her bags making Amity look back at her before she chuckled "Did you get your jacket?" Amity asked, a little prick of sadness in her tone Luz nodded and gave her something "I got this as well" it was a jacket with Jack on the pocket his name being written in cursive "Thank you" she said I gave her a thumbs up to which she nodded "We should probably get out of here" Luz said before the owner of the store came out red in the face "You little rat!"

We all ran while Luz was laughing "What did you do?" I said chuckles escaping me "I just gave him a taste of his own medicine!" She said running faster than all of us combined. We finally made a sharp turn and knew by now the cost was clear Luz was panting and so was the rest of the gang until Gus burst out in laughter "That's the best fun I've had since we all jumped off that bridge" Luz looked at us "You guys jumped off a bridge?" We all nodded "it's was Amitys idea" Luz just raised an eyebrow but then went to her stuff to make sure it was all there. She panicked for a moment but then instantly calmed down finding what she was looking for. I smiled knowing what she had gotten or possibly stole but it didn't bother me none.

Time skip

Luz had decided to put the stuff in Amity's car making sure to bury the one thing she didn't want her to see it felt nice to buy her something seeing her sad just made her feel like well bleh and she didn't like that feeling nor would she allow some chump ruin her newly found friends mood

After they got out of the mall Luz noticed a lot of things about Amity that she never noticed before with anyone else. Like how she would sometimes place her hand behind her ear or when she laughed how she would put her hand in front of her mouth but the most important thing she noticed was that how beautiful Amity looked when she smiled. It made her stomach do these weird flips that she hadn't felt in what felt like centuries

She hadn't noticed her stareing becoming more obvious and she couldn't say Amity did either but she had forgotten it wasn't just her and Amity there was Gus and that also included Willow the one who asked her what her intentions where in the first place. She sighed and remembered something that pained her memory the fear of rejection the same fear that a girl she had grown fond of gave her all those years back

But she quickly turned a blind eye to that and hopped on the car of the blight getting settled in the seat before the radio came to life playing an all too familiar song

Luz pov
I looked at Amity as the song played but it wasn't by it's original creator "Oh sorry that's my brother" I went wide eyed "That's your brother?" She chuckled "Yeah my sister and her girlfriend had a band and they knew he could sing so they did a cover but he doesn't sing much anymore since he got made fun of for it."

I told her to play it and glad I did it started out with a piano and then the voice of her brother made chills run down my back. He was good too good for that matter I chuckled but listened and wisper sing the song

Not knowing that they could actually hear me or that Willow was recording me I felt my eyes close as I let the music take me, I knew that I could sing I just never brought myself to since I was also told that I wasn't good and got picked on for my voice I just listened as it slowly came to and end turning on to a different song that happened to be another cover

I looked back at Willow and her mouth hung open "Where did you learn to sing like that?" I jumped "W-what do you mean?" I turned to Amity "We heard you Luz your an amazing singer!" I blushed "Yeah you should totally try out for Emira and Viney's band!"

I heard Gus say which made me chuckle "I guess I could try that tomorrow" knowing well I wouldn't "Why wait when I can drive you there now?" I gulped maybe coming with them was a bad idea or maybe this one was a good idea.

Maybe this could catch Amity's attention!

I smiled "Lead the way I guess" they all yelled a hell yeah as Amity started to drive I hoped no one saw how I was looking at her but just the sight of her hair blowing in the wind with a smile on her face as she sung a song that her sister made named "Hard Boy" but instead of saying boy she would say girl for some odd reason

As the lyrics played I listened closely she turned her gaze twords me

"Cause you think you're such a hard girl, baby and that's just the things I'm into lately"

I blushed but turned away before she could see it but looking in the corner of my eye I would see her yell some of the lyrics which made me smile I could get used to being near her.
