Chapter 3

Valerie's POV

I wake up to hear my alarm ringing, I pick up my phone to see that it's 5:45 AM, I hit snooze and went back to sleep.

*15 minutes later*

I heard my alarm ringing back up and saw that it was 6 AM. I checked my messages and saw one from Lucia, Rob, and an unknown number.

From Lucia:

hey, I already am missing you babe!!!! :( have a great time in Seattle!!! Message me everyday or I'll have to personally and virtually kick your ass! Anyway love ya and have a safe flight <3

From Rob:

have a safe flight Val, missing you loads already. Text me as soon as you land and don't be replacing me with any new guy friends :)

From an Unknown Number:

hey, it's Ashton, got your number from Luke's mum. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I would love to be your first official friend in Seattle if you would like to take me up on that offer. See you at the airport xx

To: Lucia

Hey love, I'm already missing you too and don't worry I'll text you always xo

To: Rob

Missing you loads too and ill text you when I land. You're my best guy friend forever and always no matter how weird our past is x

To: Ashton

Hey, saved your number. I would love for you to be my first official friend, but wouldn't Luke have a problem with that? He doesn't necessarily like me. See you at the airport xx

After responding to all my messages I hopped into the shower and washed up, I'll spare the details.

Once I got out I brushed my teeth and dried my hair. I walk back into my room and go to pick out an outfit.

I decided on a long sleeved white top, a pair of black leggings with white zigzags in the knees, a black beanie, black vans, plain silver earrings, my silver arrows necklace, and a black leather backpack.

I put on my top and leggings before drying my hair and tossing on my beanie. I put on some lip balm and didn't bother with makeup for a 15 hour flight.

My dad went a week ahead of us to set up the house with the kitchen utensils and furniture, so all we need to do is set up our bedrooms with our things.

Us moving to Seattle is convenient since my older brother Jonah, attends the University of Washington down on the Seattle campus on a soccer scholarship.

I went downstairs to find my mum packing all our suitcases into the car. My uncle Jesse is taking us to the airport. He's in the kitchen having some coffee and I walk in to join him.

J: Uncle Jesse. V: Valerie

V: good morning

J: hey! There's my favorite niece.

V: Uncle Jesse, I'm your only niece.

J: doesn't make me love you any less babe.

I start laughing and pour myself a cup of coffee and pull out a pack of pop tarts.

V: so how's work going?

J: it's been pretty busy if I'm honest, but I took a few days off to help you guys move.
