A Little Bit of Love & Hate (Luke Hemmings & Barbara Palvin)

Chapter 11

Valerie's POV

After Madisen found out about my past with Luke, she hasn't talked to me. There's something about her that has been putting me off. I've avoided all contact with Luke these past few weeks, today we are celebrating Ashton and Luke's birthdays.

Luke is turning 18 and Ashton is turning 20. Ashton had to repeat junior year twice since he kept failing English and also failed it during summer school, but now he passed and will finish high school with all of us.

Rob and Lucia moved back to Sydney, said Seattle wasn't the place for them. I'm currently getting ready for the celebration. Michael and I have gotten pretty close and are great friends; Calum and Ashton are close to me too, unlike Luke. I found out they're all in a band, and they've been writing some songs. I don't ask too much about it because they like to keep it between them.

I curled my hair a bit, and put on some skinny jeans, a white blouse, and a black blazer styled cardigan. We're all going to an under 21 club, being the guys and I along with Madisen. I plan on staying away from Luke because I don't need nay drama. I can't trust him after what he's done to me.

I just have one question for him.

**Flashback**

Principal: Mr. Hemmings, here are all our school records, ah Miss Davis; I assume you're here for your records as well?

I nod my head

Principal: Very well then, I'll just be a moment.

Luke then stands up and walks over to the door which I was still slightly standing in front of and came up close to my ear, whispering.

Luke: Sorry love, but you'll never figure out why I am the way I am, and don't expect me to give you any less of the "cold shoulder" in Seattle.

**End of Flashback**

If we had a past and were mean to me all those years, why did he kiss me on our first day in Seattle and why does he want me to forgive him now? Why was he so mean to me back in Sydney?

Okay, so maybe that's more than one question, but I'm curious.

**Knock, Knock**

I look up to see Michael pop his head in my room, asking if I'm ready.

I nod my head, linked my arm with his and went downstairs to find the rest of the guys and Madisen refusing eye contact with me.

We all got into the car and were off.

We finally got to the club to find a huge line outside. Luke went up to security, gave his name and we automatically got in. We found a booth in the corner and occupied it. It was packed in here.

Everyone went to get drinks. Ben, Luke's brother, works here so we had easy access to alcohol. I didn't really want to drink and apparently neither did Madisen.

V: Hey, can we talk?

M: Sure.

V: Is everything okay with us? You've been distant since that day at Jack's.

M: Not to be rude or anything, but I don't think it's the best idea if we're friends. You and Luke have a history and I'd prefer if you stay away from us. We're happy and don't need you to mess it up.

She then got up and went to find Luke. Everyone had their drinks and were dancing and I was here, sat in a booth all by myself.

I went up to get water and bumped into someone.

"I'm so so sorry. I wasn't looking at where I was going." They said.

"Oh, no it was my fault I shouldn't have been walking with my head down." I say looking up.

I immediately know who this person was.

V: Omg! What are you doing here?!

Unknown Person: The lads and I are here for our radio tour.

V: Oh yeah! I read that you guys were doing that. I've missed you. Wow, 4 years went by. Look at you! You look great.

UP: Val! You look like some kind of model. Jesus! The last time I saw you, you were 13 and geeky.

V: You were 16 and short.
