It wasn't a mistake- Shoto knew that when he woke up and Katsuki was curled close against his chest. One of his legs was slung over his and the blonde was clinging to him like he was a tree. He smiled, his body aching pleasantly.
Katsuki breathed deeply and regularly as if he couldn't have been any more comfortable. Something about it made his body flush with heat, and relax into the boy next to him. His enhancer quirk was silent and he couldn't have been more grateful. He wanted this moment all to himself.
Shoto never wanted to leave the moment. He closed his eyes again, resting his chin on the top of Katsuki's head. How could he have ever thought that leaving Katsuki would be the right thing? No, no he wouldn't ever leave again.
He didn't care what happened- Shoto would never leave Katsuki again. The blonde meant far more than he probably should have, but he couldn't be bothered to care. Shoto loved Katsuki and that was impossible to ignore.
Especially after being so miserable without him. Especially after the rapture they experienced together the night before. Shoto smiled, his body heating at the memory- he wondered if Katsuki felt as good as he did. Obviously his enhancer quirk amplified everything and so Katsuki certainly didn't feel it exactly the same as he did, but even if it was a fraction Shoto finally understood the appeal to something so intimate.
Did Katsuki feel the same way? Was it as important to him? What did it mean to him? He assumed the blonde still wanted to be with him but they hadn't actually gotten a chance to talk about anything. It was good for him- he hadn't quite come up with the most believable excuse yet.
And he couldn't exactly spill the beans about being a villain and say 'hey, sorry I ghosted you, I was busy killing dozens of heroes and a group of innocent people.' Yeah Shoto couldn't see that going over very well. But he couldn't push back an explanation forever, surely Katsuki would get tired of waiting eventually.
And Katsuki didn't deserve that.
Softly, the blonde groaned, rolling away from Shoto and onto his back. He didn't open his eyes as he spoke. "I can hear you thinking- shut up." He muttered, voice deep and rough from sleep.
"Did I wake you?" Shoto asked, nervous that his movements caused a disruption in his sleep.
"Mhm," Katsuki hummed, "thinking too loud and shit." He said, but a smile grew on his face as he did, putting Shoto's nerves at ease. The blonde opened his eyes and looked over at Shoto who was gazing back at him. Katsuki tilted his head, calling him over.
"You moved away," Shoto muttered but didn't waste any time in sliding into the empty space and pressing close to Katsuki's body. He let his head come to a rest on his chest, listening to his heartbeat thud steadily.
It reassured him.
Katsuki lazily dragged his fingers along Shoto's backside, following the curve of his muscles and then down the straight of his spine. "What were you thinking about?" he asked.
Shoto took in a breath, "us." He said honestly Katsuki deserved the truth. But he couldn't give him the truth all the time so he would as often as he could. Any opportunity to tell him everything, he would.
"Oh?"
"Mhm."
"What about us?" Katsuki asked, allowing his fingers to combed through the hair on the back of Shoto's head. He smoothed the wild pieces before brushing through them.
