There was something different between them now. Shoto was sure of it and he made sure that Katsuki knew it. Hell, he made sure that sure that everyone knew. It was five thirty in the morning, he'd texted Katsuki several minutes ago and started stretching on the porch. Of course, Shoto didn't really need to stretch, he'd already ran then entire distance but it was better than standing oddly in front of the door.
Since that day- the day Shoto fixed it all. Where his lies spun into the truth and he was a close to it as he could be, they hadn't left each other's side. He didn't fail to notice the lingering glances the two of them got from their classmates but he dared them to say anything.
Shoto didn't think they meant any harm, but perhaps were more confused than anything else but Shoto didn't care. They didn't need to know his business and he certainly didn't owe it to them. The only person he owed anything to, was Katsuki and he was making up for it. As often as he could.
The picked back up their morning runs and Shoto couldn't deny that it was good for him. An outlet to relax while simultaneously training not to mention that as long as Shoto was by Katsuki's side, then nothing and no one would be able to harm the blonde.
Gods help them if they tried.
Katsuki opened the door, an easy smile on his face. He pulled on his sneakers, stepped out of the house and lifted himself up until his lips met Shoto's once. And then again just because he could. Katsuki bent down and started to tie up the laces and Shoto crouched down to be on the same level while stretching his legs.
"Morning," Shoto said softly, tucking a piece of Katsuki's hair behind his ears. The blonde's cheeks burned slightly in pink at the simple motion.
"Morning," Katsuki said back, swatting Shoto's hand away before it was able to linger on his jaw and cup his chin. Shoto sighed and dropped his hand but a smirk played on his lips. "Don't start that shit, we were twenty minutes late last time."
Shoto huffed and stood, "you weren't complaining. Quite the opposite if I do recall." He held out his hand to help the blonde up and when Katsuki took in, he pulled him in and kissed him gently, smiling at the pleasant feeling of Katsuki's want wafting around him. "But I digress. Shall we go?"
Katsuki hummed, punching Shoto softly in the arm. "Four miles, we're preparing for the licensing exam in class soon- don't want to overdo it."
Shoto nodded in agreement and let go of Katsuki's hand. They started their run, and Shoto matched Katsuki's pace.
He'd almost forgotten about the licensing exam. It was a thought that almost always made him laugh- he, a villain, would be getting his semi-professional hero license. It wasn't so imperative that he passed, but if he wanted to remain in good standing with the heroes, it was a good idea to pass. And he wanted to stay in the same league as Katsuki after all.
It wasn't supposed to be so soon, but the exams were pushed up due to all the incidents in the city. Incidents, himself it was all the same. Still, the reality of it all was humorous. It would prove to be entirely useless to him but perhaps he could use it to his advantage.
Perhaps he could find something in the system to plant more doubt in Katsuki's mind. His father wasn't enough to convince the blonde to stay on his side but maybe something in the provisional licensing exam would be.
