Chains are around my hands connected to the roof of my cell and my feet are chained to the floor. I hang in the middle of my cell like a rag doll. Days are full of blistering pain as the three shadow men try to get information out of me of stuff that I don't know, don't remember.

Now it is night and the shadows loom darker than ever and the air is cold. Wounds lace my body with fiery pain, at the edge of my mind I can feel some kind of knowledge that could save me from my pain but it is always just out of reach.

Someone slips out of the shadows and I look up, "What do you want?"

"Nothing miss." A small boy speaks.

"I can’t see you, come forward." I say. The boy nods and disappears into the shadows, then comes out of the shadows from within my cell.

"Is this better miss?" He asks. I study him; he has blue gray eyes with pale skin and black hair that tumbles to his ears. He has on a black leather jacket with a gray shirt, slightly faded jeans and black sneakers. Most extraordinary is the feathery black crow wings sprouting from his back. He looks about the same age as Lucy.

"You can move through shadows?" I raise an eyebrow.

He leans his shoulder against the wall crossing his arms. "Yes."

"Have you a name?" I ask him.

"No. My fathers never gave me a name." He speaks sadly.

"Your fathers?" I move and the chains rattle.

"The three shadow men who hurt you." He says. "I am sorry."

"Do you love them." I ask softly.

"No, and they don't love me. To them I am a flaw." A tear slides down his cheek.

I smile, "You remind me of someone."

"Who?" He tilts his head to the right.

"I do not remember." I hang my head as my memory fails.

"I must go. My fathers are coming. I am so, so sorry." He whispers.

I look up, "It is not your fault. Have hope little one, I can feel light in you."

He nods smiling, then melts into the shadows disappearing as the three shadow men's voices echo off the dungeon walls. "Our cursed son has been here..." One starts.

Another continues, "I can feel his flaws in the shadows..."

"He is a stupid child... and he is not our concern at the moment..." A third finishes. The shadow men step into view, the first unlocks my cell door clanking keys together. They step in and I close my eyes, the door closes with a rattle as the shadow mens' questions wash over me.

I stay silent and they get frustrated with my silence pulling their weapons with a slither of ghostly metal. "SPEAK! WHY WON'T YOU SPEAK?!" The shadow men roar as one. I just silently hang there. The shadow man standing behind me growls and swings his sword. I cry out in pain as my wings fall to the floor. Then my mind clears and the memories rush back.
