Ninjago's Shadow

31: Building The Army

“Come on.” I say dashing down the stairs.

Once we are on the bounty and a cores for the dark island has been set I explain my theories. “What I think will happen is that the shadows will come onto the dark island because it is the easiest way for them to cross from their world into ours. First off we need to persuade The Counsel into helping us. At most, we can hope for dragons, spirits, phoenixes , and giants.”

“Oh great. Dragons and giants. Just my luck.” Cole says with a hysterical laugh.

“I didn’t know you were scared of giants Cole.” Kai exclaims.

“Who isn’t? Giants aren’t supposed to be real!” Cole points out.

“Oh they’re real all right. But because people had begun to kill them they took to a realm in the Spirit Realm and have been there eversense. And if it makes you feel any better, dragons and giants aren’t that different. Any ways, We might be able to persuade the Serpentine and skeletons into helping us.”

“We have to work with them?!” Jay pips up. “But they helped Garmadon!”

“Well my father is good now.” Lloyd points a threatening finger at Jay. “You got a problem with that?”

“No.” Jay squeaks.

“Please stop fighting.” I sigh shaking my head. “Cole you will find the Serpentine and try to persuade them to help. Zane, you will go to the underworld and persuade Samukai to get his army to help us. Sensei and Nya you will come with me to the Spirit Realm. Lloyd, Jay, and Kai, you three with fly to the dark island with Wisp, Flame, Thicket, and Ultra-dragon, and set up a campsite. We will rondevu there. Good luck everyone.”

~~~Cole P.O.V.~~~

I nod and leave the bridge room. Jumping the stairs, I back flip off the main deck, onto Rocky’s back. “We need to find were the Serpentine are hiding.” I say pating Rocky’s neck. I may not like dragons, but I know that Rocky always has my back.

We fly over the ocean and then into the heart of Ninjago City. Rocky uses his claws and tunnels down, under the city. After a while of dirt being thrown in my face, we finally come out into a cavern. The walls are covered in weird kind of drawings.

“NINJA! ATTACK!”

I look down. Serpentine are charging at Rocky and I. I jump down and lay my scythe at my feet. The Serpentine stop and stare at me, confused.

“I am not here to fight you.” I say.

“Then what are you here for?” Scales snaps as he pushes his way to the front. He stops standing in front of me. I guess you could call it standing. He is wearing a gold circlet around the top of his head. He must be king now.

“I’ve come to make a bargain. Ninjago and everyone and thing that lives here is at stake. Shadow men are coming to kill us all. They will  not take any allies. Come and fight with us and you will be given freedom.”

“Hmmm. Tempting. And what if you ninja betray us?”

“erm... You get to kill us?” I reply with uncertainty.

“And if we betray you?” Scales leers.

“We get to kill you?” I reply with uncertainty again.

“Good enough for me.” He turns to the crowd of Serpentine. “And what do you think boysssss?” Loud cheers echo around the cavern.

~~~ Zane P.O.V.~~~

I leave the bridge room after Cole and jump onto Shards back. “The underworld please Shard.” Then in a blink we disappear and reappear in the underworld.

“NINJA!” A skeleton shouts. They start running around and running into each other in their haste to get away.

“Stop!” I shout and the skeletons stop panicking. “I wish to speak to Samukai.”

“I’m here.” Samukai says pushing through the skeletons. Then he stops in front of Shard and I. “Come down here and talk to me.” He snaps.

I jump down and hold up my hands by my head to show that I am unarmed. “I’ve come to make a bargain. Ninjago and everyone and thing that lives here is at stake. Shadow men are coming to kill us all. They will take no allies. Join us or die at the hands of the Shadow men.”

“You’re lying!” Samukai splutters.

“Am I? Very well.” I say getting onto Shards back.

“Fine! Well fight with you!” Samukai says.

~~~ Leray P.O.V.~~~

I take Nya and Sensei to the Spirit Realm and stand be for The Counsel. “Hi father.”

“Leray my dear, it’s been too long.” He says. Mother Spirit gives me a sad smile.

I open my mouth to speak but Spirit Leader raises his hand and says, “We have already prepared our troops. Do as you must.”

I nod and turn pulling Nya aside. “I need you and Sensei to stay her and help protect the Spirit Realm. Yes this place is least likely to be attacked and it is the safest place to be, but you and Sensei are the only ones I can trust completely to not abandon their post. I’m leaving you half of the spirits to command. Besides, I've heard that you and Sensei make a pretty good team."

I go out to the fields and I see two full armies ready for battle, I instruct one to follow Nya and Sensei in to Spirit Realm to protect it and the other realms, and the other army to follow me in Ninjago to protect it.

~~~ Kai P.O.V.~~~

I can’t believe I was given the most boring job! Any ways I guess I don’t have to do much. We have decided to use the place where Garmadon and the Over Lord had their camp.

We land the bounty and begin to set up. It isn’t long before the Serpentine and skeletons show up. Then Leray appears with dragons, spirits, phenoxies, and giants.

~~~Leray P.O.V.~~~

“Okay, this is the plan. Kai, Cole, Jay, Zane, Lloyd, and I will go into the void. That is the enemies base. It is you job to make sure that the enemies do not cross over to Ninjago. Is that clear?” Cheers, growls, screams, and jets of fire great my words. “Good.”

I set up the battle lines and then stand in front with Kai, Cole, Jay, Zane, and Lloyd. It is a long tense hour as we wait. I am beginning to think that I am wrong when a portal opens. Shadow men and women, dark dragons and black phoenixes pore out into battle lines.

The two armies look at eachother then I shout at the top of my lungs, “CHARG!”
