Hey guys,

So sorry for the late update! I am definitely not finished with this story and do intend to finish it. Life just got in the way a little. Anyway, here is the next part. Enjoy! :)

The woman I saw now, I did not recognise. She was fierce yet elegant. Calm yet commanding. A warrior with a certain regality. I would follow her. Follow her into the unknown, into the making of the world itself, without knowing what lay ahead. I was beginning to see what Genya meant - perhaps it was the kefta.

The blue was like a winter's night an hour before sunset. The colour you see as almost velvet no matter the lighting. Darker. Just as the Darkling decreed. But what struck me was the shock of silver tendrils that swirled in a pattern much like my own shadows. It was mesmerising, bewitching - practically a symbol of everything the drüskelle feared. And, of course, the two overlapping circles. The sun in eclipse. His symbol. An honour. The highest.

I did not recognise the woman looking back at me.

How could this be me?

It seemed that Genya had similar thoughts.

"You look..."

"I know."

"The Darkling will be pleased," Genya stated.

"Indeed. But Genya, you truly are..."

"I only requested the blue, Leksi."

That's when a small voice piped up.

"Actually, miss, it was the Darkling's design."

"Indeed?"

Genya's face seemed to match my tone of voice. We were equally stunned.

I peered at myself in the mirror once more.

This woman was stunning.

I... was beautiful.

So this is how the Darkling saw me?

That's when I remembered something.

I was his promise. And I could see now that he believed it.

"You really do look beautiful."

I squeezed Genya's arm on my shoulder.

"I can't believe..."

"Well, believe it."

I honestly... I could.
