How was I supposed to tell him?

My thoughts were racing, and I could not keep up.

"Leksi?"

Mother.

"Is everything alright?"

How do I even start?

"Aleksandria."

The softness was gone. I had not heard her speak to me like that in this timeline. It took me back a few centuries - not gonna lie.

"Fine," I grumbled.

She nodded for me to continue.

"It's the king."

I paused, waiting for her reaction.

"I see. What of him?"

"Well, it seems there's some sort of exchange programme between us and Fjerda. Nobles of each kingdom are going to live in the other."

"Yes, I'm actually aware. The Princess is supposed to be leaving at the end of the week."

I was shocked. I thought the king...

"Wha.. how do you? I thought Father..."

"Well, it seems the King really needs to stop underestimating the Darkling."

Her face then scrunched up in confusion.

"So, what's so concerning..."

"Well, Mother... the princess is not going anymore."

"What do you..."

That's when it hit her.

"Does Aleksander know about this?"

"The king..."

"Of course, he doesn't. We would be in a civil war by now if he knew."

"So... should I tell him?"

She just glared at me.

I was ready to burst out laughing. Probably not the most appropriate reaction.
