Confusion: Five

For You

I was thankful that Rom is here, though hindi ko naman alam bakit siya nandito, but his presence here is a big help to me. Sobrang laki nang naitulong niya.

On the other hand, I saw Axel staring at me... Amused. He must be wondering about the possibility kung bakit may lalaki rito.

"Love, who is this?"

Nagtanong ulit si Rom. I closed my eyes so hard that I think my irritation would really be visible. Right now, I don't know if I'm still thankful or I would be irritated because of the fact that Rom played this game so well that you can't sense that he's only playing pretend!

Rom ran his left arm around my waist and pulled me closer to him making me gasp. Just... What is he doing?!

"Leigh. I'm asking, who's this?" Rom asked asking while he is gently rubbing his fingers on my waist.

All I want to do right now is to melt. To melt because of the giddy feelings I felt because of what Rom is doing, and to melt because of the stare that is so fierce Axel is giving me. For goodness' sake! I could melt at this minute!

"He is Axel." I shortly introduce.

"Boyfriend."

"Ex-boyfriend." I said.

My blood boiled of what I heard from Axel. The audacity?!

"What the fuck did you say?!" I got away with Rom's hold on my waist and walked fearlessly towards Axel.

"After what you did?!"

Axel took a step backwards as soon as he noticed that I am fast approaching to him.

"Leigh... Calm down," Rom interfered.

My anger didn't went off and I continued making a loud stomped towards Axel. How dare he? I moved on from him but the memory is still here!

Rom didn't waste his time and I guess he sensed that his words won't calm me down, I heard his fast paces towards me and held my waist again.

"Baby... Calm down..." He whispered.

What?!

I saw Axel smirked as soon as he noticed that I was shocked about the sudden unexpected word from Rom.

"You know what Leigh... Let's call it a day," Axel told me sarcastically before he started walking towards the door. As soon as he disappeared from my sight, I continuously released consecutive long heavy sighs and dropped myself in the chair.

Fuck!

"Tangina mo, Axel!"

The frustration inside me is still here. Nandito pa rin. Naiinis pa rin ako kay Axel. Yes, he was my boyfriend when I was still in college, until I went to law school, graduated and had my own firm. He was there. But then, he left me months after my firm got a lot of praises from people. I want to share my triumph and success with him. But he wasn't here anymore...

"Leigh?" Dinig kong tawag ni Rom sa akin.

Agad ko siyang tiningnan at kita ko ang talim ng kaniyang tingin.

"Mr. Venenoso, I apologize-"

"It's Rom for you... Or Zandrex..." he said firmly.

Huminga ako nang malalim dahil hindi ko alam bakit bigla siyang naging ganito. I'm used to address him using his surname, pero ngayon he gave me his permission to call him by his first name.

Bigla ko namang naalala ang narinig kong usapan ni Shin at sa daddy niya kanina. She addressed Rom using his first name.

"Okay... By any chance, do you know Atty. Shin del Rosario?" Tanong ko sa kaniya.
