Lervint seems casual to me now. Hindi na rin ako dumistansya sa kanya. I can't distance myself more since we're staying in the same villa. His parents have their own villa and the three of us—Zen, Lerv, and I will stay in a four-bedroom villa.

Flowers, foods, and drinks are given to us when we set foot in the island. We were welcomed with flowers and hugs from the crews. I know them. Others are even too excited when they saw me and Zen.

"Ma'am Leigh, you may take a rest first in your villas. Beep us when you need anything." The receptionist told me.

"Sure, we will."

Our resort's villa has its own chef and butler. Though, in our stay here, I don't think we will be needing such. We could come in the buffet area for food.

"Tita, will you be fine in your villa?" I asked Lerv's mom because our villa is far from theirs.

"Oh, no need to worry. We will be fine." She assured me.

I smiled before we separate our ways. Another staff led the way and tour us quickly inside the villa. Alam ko naman na iyon, but of course, Zen and Lerv just got here. They deserve to be toured around.

Nang umalis ang staff, Zen went immediately to one of the rooms and probably will settle herself down. I and Lerv both left the living room, doing nothing.

"Which room do you want?" He asked me.

"Anywhere is fine."

"Take the room near Zen's," he told me before he left and opened the room next to mine.

This villa is just too big. It's not ideal to be here with only three guests. With four bedrooms with the size of a master bedroom, bunch of family members could fit inside this whole villa.

Tumayo na rin ako at pumasok sa kwarto. I organized my things before I dropped myself in my bed. The view is just too beautiful but I can't wander around when I'm tired. Might as well take a rest.

It has been what. . . minutes since I closed my eyes but I woke up with the sign of my phone ringing. Unknown caller. Yet I know for sure, this is Rom. Kinuha ko ang cellphone at sinagot ang tawag.

"Hello." Ako na ang unang nagsalita.

"Good afternoon, Leigh. I dropped in your firm to. . . invite you for lunch. But you're not there. Where are you?"

Parang hindi ako makahinga sa sinabi niya. He went to my firm? Bakit hindi naitawag ni Faye ito sa akin?

"Leigh?"

"Oh. . . about that. I took a leave for this week. I'm in a vacation with my sister." I told him.

He sighed. "Sorry for disturbing you, then. I hope we could have a meal when you get back. Take care, Leigh."

Sasagot na sana ako but he ended the call immediately. Time is gold.

I heaved a sigh after the call. Pakiramdam ko nawalan ako ng hininga sa ginawa niya. This is just too heavy for me. My thoughts are too heavy for me. I'm stressed with all these words lingering in my mind.

Nang nilagay ko ang cellphone sa mesa, two notifications notified me. Tiningnan ko agad ito and to see the messages, I am almost horrescent.

Unknown:

Stay away from him. Or else. . .

Another message.

Unknown:

I could do anything for my daughter. I could even kill you.

Okay, alright. In this profession I've chosen, I hundred percent knew that these things could happen. But to actually know my number? They probably traced me from somewhere. Death threats are constant to lawyers. To receive one at this time is unusual since I'm not handling any case. This is alarming.
