As we walked side by side along the trail, I felt truly relieved that he had offered to walk with me because the trail was really eerie at night. I decided to not focus on the dark that surrounded us and instead looked over at Joon next to me. Standing next to him, I could tell that he was a foot taller than I was at the very least like I had initially thought. It also occurred to me that our outfits matched. We were both wearing gray and black in some form. I found it a little funny which made me chuckled. He looked down at me.
"What's so funny?" He asked questioningly.
"Nothing." I grinned. "So do you come to Achasan Mountain often to sneak up on people?"
He broke out into a laugh face lighting up at he did.
"No, you are the first."
"I feel honored." I teased.
"You should feel honored." He smirked.
Our walk down the trail continued on along with our small talk.
"Was today your first time coming to Achasan Mountain?" He asked.
"No, I was here last week to do some hiking. But once I saw the view, I knew I had to come back to take some pictures."
"You should have taken your pictures from the top of the Mountain for a better view instead of the Pavilion."
"True, but I didn't want people in my pictures. I just wanted some landscaping. Plus, I really like the Goguryeojeong Pavilion and wanted to capture it during a sunset." He nodded his head in understanding.
In no time we arrived at the start of the trail that also became our exit out of it. I brought my wrist up and glanced down at my watch to see it was only a little after 7. I wasn't going to be meeting Jihun and the others till around 9. Since I had time to kill, and I was still a bit chilled from earlier, I wanted to grab something warm to drink but had no idea where to go.
"Do you know this area well at all? If there is a cafe nearby?" I asked.
"Are you asking me to grab a cup of coffee with you?" He asked smirking.
I don't know where it came from or what possessed me to utter what I did next, but I did.
"Maybe, maybe not. I guess it depends on what your answer would be." I gave him a smirk of my own.
He stared at me for a heartbeat before shaking his head with a laugh.
"Come on, follow me."
Follow him I did as he led us away from the trail steps down into the street. We continued walking side by side in a comfortable silence eventually making a turn up a side walkway where a few paces later a traditional Korean building came into view with a sign out front indicating its name: Modern Kiwa*. It was completely lit up like a beacon in the night and looked so inviting. The closer we got to it, and I was able to take in all of the building's details and its surroundings I fell in love with the place very quickly. Still enthralled I felt myself nudged to see Joon smiling next me not having realized I had stopped to stare at the little cafe.
"Nice right?" He smiled.
"Very." I smiled back.
Picking our steps back up we walked inside, and I was immediately wrapped in warmth.
"Welcome." I heard spoken to my left.
My head turned at the sound of the voice to see a woman behind a counter with a friendly smile which I returned. I walked forward towards the counter.
