A nervous wreck. That is what I am as I stand in front of my closet with the doors wide open debating on what to wear. The reason for this was because I was going to be meeting up with Joon in less than an hour. It was going to be the first time we meet up in person since the night we had actually met at Achasan Mountain which was three weeks ago. During that time, we had been keeping in touch via text messages and phone calls.
He had texted me the day after we met asking how my photographs turned out. I told him they came out great and I was likely going to be adding them to my site for purchase. He was surprised to learn that I did freelance photography just thinking that I was doing the typical tourist thing taking pictures while visiting. Even though I should have, I didn't tell him about the photograph that had been taken of him by accident. I honestly hadn't decided what I was going to do with it. It was something I was still thinking on.
Through our daily chats, we learned more about each other. I found out that he had learned English watching a sitcom called Friends. I had never seen it which he thought was crazy, but I explained how I didn't watch TV since my time was spent outside or reading. We did have those two things in common. He also loved to read and spend time outside. We each suggested some books the other should read that the other hadn't. He also recommended some places to check out that were only known by locals which I was grateful for.
My thoughts drifted back to my current dilemma, what to wear. I decided that I was just going to go casual. I pulled out my distressed light blue jeans, a plain white long-sleeved t-shirt, and my Panda hoodie. The hoodie was really cute. I got it when I went back to Starfield COEX Mall* with Soojin. It was a white and gray crop top hoodie that had a Panda peeking from the side with a pink heart atop its head.
After I finished getting dressed, I went to the bathroom to access my hair. I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave it down or not. In the end I decided on something simple that was in-between which was a low side ponytail. With my hair done, I put my contacts in. I would have worn my glasses, but I wasn't sure what we were going to be doing since Joon wouldn't say. Once my contacts were in, I went to my front door and put my black converse shoes on. I then grabbed my bag and slung the strap over my head pulling the hood from under the strap and adjusted the strap across my torso. I went back into my bedroom really quick, closed my bedroom door, and looked in the full body mirror I had on the back of it. I took in my reflection and decided that I looked presentable. I checked my watch. I needed to get going or I was going to be late.
Hurrying out my apartment and quickly exiting the apartment building I headed towards the place we planned to meet up at. He told me to meet him in front of the Han River Cruise Center* which made me think that we might be going on one. I'd been on one of their cruises shortly after coming here so I knew where it was. I arrived in no time arriving with 10 minutes to spare. I took that time to enjoy my view. It was really nice out since the weather had warmed up moving into Spring. I walked over to the railing and leaned against it to take in all the scenery. It was such a pretty sight since it was getting close to sunset. Not able to help myself, I pulled my camera out of my bag. I didn't bring my professional one, but my small one which was a Canon PowerShot G9 X Mark II. It was the one I used for my own personal photos when I wasn't doing a professional one. So, while I wait, I snapped away losing myself in the view.
Out of nowhere, I heard laughter ring out close to my right. I looked over and saw that it was Joon. His laugh had quieted down into a full smile with dimples included as he closed the distance between us.
"Will this be a common occurrence? Finding you taking pictures?"
"Always." I spoke instantly returning his smile.
Before leaving my spot, I slipped my camera back into its home in my bag. I stepped away from the rail and walked towards him taking in his attire while I did. He was wearing light distressed jeans with tears throughout from the knee up. His shirt was white with a fish swimming down the left side from the shoulder area. His sweater was a dark brown contrasting with his cherry brown colored boots. He was also wearing sunglasses and a black baseball cap flipped backwards. He looked casual yet didn't. It was hard to describe. Regardless, he looked really good.
