Adeline's POV:

"Pick me up?"  I repeated what he said easily slipping back into Korean. "Wait, I thought you were going hiking?" I questioned now that the shock of him showing up here at the train station had dissipated some.

"Oh, I am." He began walking pulling my carry-on along with him that he'd not let go of. "Just later." He called over his shoulder me still not having moved.

I snapped out of it and broke into a sprint to catch up to him falling into stride with him.  He looked down at me smile still evident in his crinkled eyes. I still couldn't believe that he was here right now to pick me up as we crossed the distance of the main floor of the train station to reach the exit doors. When we exited, I headed straight for the taxi queue when I felt myself redirected by an arm wrapping around my shoulders. I followed the arm which led right back to Joon. I stared up at him as he veered us in the other direction.

"We have a ride already."

All I managed to get out in acknowledgement was, "oh."

He chuckled quietly to himself as he still hung on to me pulling me tighter into his side when someone almost bumped into me. I couldn't help the warm feeling that bloomed within me. He's just a friend Adeline I began to chant over and over in my head like a mantra. But even as I did my heart betrayed me thumping wildly in my chest. "Stupid heart." I muttered under my breath distinctly feeling that I was doomed.

"Hey, are you okay?" Joon asked as we stopped at the truck of a black car.

I smiled up at him with a nod of my head, "of course."

He returned my smile as the trunk popped open. I expected him to let go of me to put my carry-on in the trunk, but he didn't. I watched as he lifted my carry-on one handed into the truck and close it right after. Trunk closed he walked us to the backdoor of the car and opened it finally letting me go so I could get in which is exactly what I did. I slid across the backseat to the other side removing my camera bag and setting it on the floor at my feet. By the time I was sitting back upright Joon was closing the door having gotten into the back with me. I buckled myself in with a click hearing Joon's click of his own belt being secured a second after. The driver who hadn't said a word pulled out into traffic which is when I shifted myself to face Joon a bit better. Joon had the same idea apparently because when my eyes fell on him, he was a mirror image of myself and how I was sitting. My eyes traced over his features taking them in. Memorizing them. I could tell he was doing the same. It felt like we hadn't seen each other in forever. Given just shy of two months had passed since we had it might as well have been. We smiled at the same time. This time I saw his full smile his face mask removed and in his lap.

"I still can't believe you picked me up." I stated smiling still.

"I missed you and wanted to see you." He returned with no regards to how that statement made my heart pitter patter happily.

"Such a smooth talker you are." I played off my utter happiness at him saying he missed me and wanted to see me with a light-hearted roll of my eyes.

"Did you not miss me and want to see me?" He countered grinning.

I brought my eyes back to his and shrugged my shoulders, "maybe I did."

He broke out into a low laugh. I missed his laugh and his smile that dimples always accompanied. I had really missed him if I were honest with myself.

"Spend the day with me." He said after his laugh settled back into a smile.

It was the realization of how much I missed him that led to me answer how I did.
