My phone chimed from on top of my nightstand next to my bed. I set the book down that I was reading as I lay in my bed and rolled from my stomach to my side and grabbed it. Looking at the screen and the icon displayed on it I could tell it was an e-mail. I quickly sat up unlocking my phone to open the email. It was from Big Hit Entertainment.
Phone still in hand I reached forward and grabbed my book which was splayed cover up on my pillow. I slipped my bookmark in-between the pages I had stopped at and placed it back now shut on top of my pillow and left my bed for the chair at my desk. Sitting at the desk I pressed the power button on my laptop turning it on. While it powered up, I closed out the notification on my phone and by the time I was done doing so my laptop was ready for use. I went directly to my e-mail and began to read the email from Big Hit.
It was the official announcement of the Love Yourself World Tour and at the bottom of the e-mail was a link to the company's official YouTube Channel along with a couple of attachments. I clicked on the link and sat back in my chair in anticipation as a video began to play across my screen.
The video was only 30 seconds long. It showed clips, which I assumed, were from past concerts that group had put on. At the end of it, it listed a handful of dates with a caption that said with more dates to come. I knew there were definitely more dates to come as they claimed having received a tentative Tour Schedule in the beginning of the month. I closed out the video and went back to the e-mail opening the first of the two attachments.
The first attachment was just a re-iteration about when I would start my job and the duties that I would be tasked with. It did mention that I was able to talk about the fact that I was hired as a Tour Photographer without any legal repercussions of doing so now since the announcement had been made. I sighed in relief at reading that muttering a quiet, "thank God" to myself. It was honestly exhausting constantly fielding everyone's questions regarding what I was really doing in South Korea. I closed the attachment after I printed it up.
I pulled up the second attachment. It was the Official Tour Schedule. It had all the dates that weren't in the YouTube announcement and some others that weren't in the schedule I received earlier in the month. It was pretty extensive. I started counting all the concert dates. There was going to be 42 tour stops in total. Not only that but we were going to be stopping in North America, Europe, and then coming back to Asia where the Tour was going to kick off.
"Holy crap!" I breathed out as I sat back in my chair. This was going to be insanity. No wonder we were being flown in a week ahead of time to go over stuff for the venues and schedules. I laced my hands behind my neck. I really hope I am going to be up to par for this job. I sighed at the thought. Regardless, there was no turning back now I thought standing up from my chair with a shake of my head grabbing the copies of the attachment's and e-mail itself that I had printed up as I did.
I went to my closet and opened the expandable file folder I kept that I used to keep everything related to my job with Big Hit Entertainment. I figured it wasn't a bad idea to keep copies of everything so that in case something happened I would be covered. I was probably being overly cautious, but it was my first professional job, and I didn't want to take any chances. After I filed the papers, I went back and sat on my bed tucking my knees up underneath my chin. I thought some more about the tour. I was relieved that they had finally announced it, but I was also sad about it. I was relieved because I could talk about who I was working with now. I was sad because that meant that my time here was now on an official countdown. I loved living in South Korea. I had made some wonderful friends that I was going to have a really hard time saying goodbye to. Then there was the whole situation with Joon.
