Chapter Five

Haru Norman

"Hi!" The boy with his hair neatly tucked back beamed. "I'm Haru Norman, and I just transferred here from 'Crystal Cadence Academy.' I hope we can become friends!"

Whispers echoed from around the room, slowly tearing away the confident persona the boy came in with.

"Okay, class!" The teacher noticed the tension and spoke up. "Let's just welcome the new student with open arms, and continue today's lesson, shall we?"

Nods and 'ok's faintly sounded around the room as the teacher turned her head towards the boy, who tried to force out a smile, but was still nervous due to all the eyes on him.

"Haru, why don't you go sit with..." The teacher carefully looked around the classroom, until her eyes landed on someone specefic.

"Jayson!"

~~~
"So, you're Haru, right?" The boy, Jayson asked Haru.
"Yes, that's me!" The new student said cheerfully.
"I like you, bro." Jayson laughed. "Most new students are way too shy to even seem to want friends."
"I guess..." Haru chuckled, just as a supermodel-like girl walked in the class.
"Ms.Black." The teacher said, not amused. She stared at her for a few seconds before ending a seeming battle with herself and raising her hand in surrender. "Just go and sit down. I'm not even gonna bother saying anything."
The girl, who already had Haru's mesmerized gaze on her, let out a short, sarcastic chuckle, letting her eyes roam the entire classroom before her eyes set on a very specific 'new kid.'
"So, you're the new kid everyone's talking about." She mouthed, less to Haru and more to herself. "This is gonna be fun."
She smirked, walking towards Haru and took a seat behind him.
"Who's that?" Haru whispered to Jayson, indicating the girl that sat behind him.
"Oh," Jayson frowned. "That's Ally Black. One of the riches bitch on campus."
"Why do you say that? She seems pretty innocent-"
"That's what they all say." Jayson rolled his eyes. "Literally, her looks can capture the heart of anyone. But don't fall for her 'angel eyes.' She's slept with almost every guy on campus."
"Almost every guy," Haru muttered to himself before snapping his now widened eyes towards Jayson. "Does that mean you..."
Jayson sheepishly nodded his head, biting his lower lip.
"I thought she really felt something for me that night." He looked down. "But by the time I woke up in the morning, the only thing in the room other than me and my room's furniture was a pack of condoms and my clothes lying on the floor. Some torn, and some roughly taken off. She pretended that night never took place, and when I made the mistake of asking her about it, she made a joke of me in front of the whole school."
