02.
"Woah there, man, you've had almost that entire bottle," Eddie reached for the liquor bottle in Steve's hand, and Steve yanked it away from him.
"I'm drinking to forget that my love life is a failure," he let out a drunken laugh, setting the bottle down behind him.
He and Eddie had been sitting in the backyard, and Eddie had been smoking some weed that he had brought with him. Steve thought it smelled odd. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. Steve had been taking rather large sips out of the bottle of vodka he grabbed from the kitchen, and he definitely was feeling the effects. He attempted to stand up, but that went south quickly as he tripped over himself.
"I got you," Eddie quickly stood up and helped Steve steady himself. "You need a hand getting inside?"
"No, I think I can do it," Steve shook his head, being his stubborn self.
"I don't believe that for a second," Eddie chuckled, wrapping Steve's arm around his shoulders to help him.
"Let's just go to my car, I want to get home," Steve slurred, and Eddie shook his head.
"You're not driving in this condition."
Steve didn't have the energy to argue, and accepted Eddie's act of kindness. He noticed they were still walking to Steve's car, and he looked at Eddie. "I thought you said I couldn't drive."
"You can't, dude, you're hammered," Eddie opened the passenger's side door and gestured for Steve to get in.
Once Steve realized that Eddie was implying that he was driving, he refused. "You're not driving my car, Munson."
"Either you get in the car and I drive you back to your house, or you sleep here and I take your keys away from you," Eddie gave him a choice to make, which seemed impossible due to the way his head was pounding.
Steve caved and got in the passenger's seat, while Eddie made his way to the driver's seat. Not a word was spoken between the two of them, besides Steve giving directions to his house. It was surprisingly comfortable silence, and Steve was enjoying it. There was not much silence around Robin, so the change of pace was nice. Eddie was intimidating, but Steve found his presence comforting. Who knew Eddie was a gentle, caring person? Steve didn't expect it, but it was a nice awakening that his opinion of Eddie was wrong. He wasn't a freak, he was just a person. A person who just happened to be a D&D nerd.
"You're oddly quiet over there, Harrington," Eddie broke the silence. "Daydreaming about Nancy?"
"For your information, no," Steve became defensive, and Eddie laughed, shaking his head. "I just can't seem to figure you out, Munson."
A small smirk tugged at the corner of Eddie's lips, and he shook his head in amusement. "We're here, man."
"Can I just sleep in the car? I don't feel like getting out of the car is possible right now," Steve groaned, rubbing his eyes. He couldn't even comprehend trying to get out of the car. He had a bad case of the spins.
"I don't think that's safe, but have at it," Eddie shrugged. He couldn't help but let out a small laugh at the soon-to-be hungover Steve. Eddie oddly didn't want to just leave him alone in his car, so he decided to stay. "Is it okay if I sleep in here too? I'm pretty tired."
"Yeah, sure," Steve nodded slightly, grimacing at his now awful headache.
"Someone can't handle his liquor," Eddie mumbled, just loud enough for Steve to hear him. Steve was amused by that statement, and shook his head.
"Shut up, Munson."

Steve felt the warmth of the sun on his skin and slowly came to. He groaned as he sat up, forgetting that he slept in the car last night. The seats were comfortable, but not that comfortable. Steve glanced over to his left, and there sat Eddie, fast asleep. He remembered that Eddie offered to stay in the car with him last night. Eddie said it was because he was tired, but Steve felt like he did it out of the kindness of his heart.
Eddie's long, curly hair was draped over his face as he let out soft snores. Steve didn't want to wake him, but it was getting warmer outside. "Eddie."
Eddie slowly started to wake up, rubbing his eyes and glancing over at Steve. "Hey, Harrington."
"It's pretty warm in here, do you want to come in for a minute?" Steve offered, and Eddie nodded.
"Sure. Just one question, do you have food?"
Steve chuckled and opened his door, getting out of the car. Eddie followed suit, groaning as the sun hit his face. "God, it's hot out here."
The two made their way inside, and Steve immediately went to the kitchen to find food and water. Eddie followed, checking out his surroundings on the way. Despite all of the parties that Steve has had, Eddie never went to a single one. His house was a palace compared to Eddie's trailer.
"This house is fucking huge," He commented, and Steve scoffed, shrugging.
"It's too big for just me."
"Where are your parents?" Eddie questioned, leaning against the kitchen island and tapping his fingertips against the granite.
"They're never really here. They travel for work and they haven't been home in a little while," Steve stuffed a frozen waffle in his mouth. "It's fine I guess."
Eddie sort of froze, he seemed to have hit a nerve with Steve. He decided to remain silent and grab a frozen waffle, sitting in awkward silence.
"Hey, thanks for offering to stay in the car last night. You didn't have to do that," Steve quickly changed the subject.
"Look at it this way, now I can say I spent the night in Steve Harrington's car with Steve Harrington," Eddie winked. That got a laugh from Steve.
"Don't push your luck or it won't happen again," he shot back, smirking ever so slightly. He wasn't sure why he and Eddie were talking like this, but he was quite enjoying it. He could sense that Eddie was too.
"Oh, spicy," Eddie raised his eyebrows, stuffing the last of his frozen waffle in his mouth. "I should be going home. Gotta check in with my uncle."
"Oh, okay," Steve nodded, slightly taken aback by that. "Well, thanks for hanging out. If you see those small dickheads before I do, tell them I said hi."
"Will do, Harrington," Eddie gave him a small wave and made his way out the front door. At this point, Steve had realized that Eddie didn't have his car.
"Wait, do you need a ride?"
————————
On the fifteen minute drive to Eddie's, the two listened to Steve's cassettes, only for Eddie to make fun of them.
"I have got to show you some better music," Eddie shook his head, truly disappointed in Steve.
"My music is good!" Steve huffed, giving Eddie a small smile anyway. He couldn't help it.
"Who told you that?"
"Dustin."
That got a cackle out of Eddie. "Henderson? There's no way I believe that."
"I'm telling you, he did!" Steve argued, running his hand through his messy, wavy hair. "If Dustin was here, he would vouch for me."
"I'll need to see that to actually believe it."
Steve rolled his eyes as his car slowed to a stop. He was parked outside of Eddie's trailer. He glanced over as Eddie was pushing his hair out of his face. Steve smiled slightly and Eddie returned the smile right back. Eddie reached over and put his hand on Steve's shoulder, gently squeezing it before letting go.
"Hang out again soon?"
"I'd like that."
Steve was already excited to hang out with Eddie again, and Eddie hadn't even gotten fully inside his trailer. There was something about him that just kept Steve wanting to come back for more. It was weird. He liked being around Eddie. Something was pulling Steve towards him and Steve couldn't stop it.
