Eddie grinned and pressed a kiss to Steve's cheek, clutching his tire iron in his hands. He swung and landed a blow to the windshield of the old, beat up car, shattering it.

"Now that is what I'm talking about," Eddie laughed, doing a small excited jump before swinging at the car's other window.

Steve couldn't help but smile as he watched Eddie. Eddie really knew how to make him feel better, and Steve felt lucky to have him around. He decided to join in on Eddie's fun, swinging his bat around again in his hand before swinging at the back window of the car. Eddie cheered as it shattered, and Steve laughed at his excitement.

Eddie climbed up the hood of the car and sat on the roof, patting the spot next to him. "Come sit."

Steve put his bat down and climbed up the hood of the car, sitting down next to Eddie and resting his hand on Eddie's back. "Thank you."

"For what, Harrington?" Eddie glanced at the boy next to him, meeting his gaze.

"For tonight. I feel a lot better. This was way more fun than dinner with my parents," Steve joked, pushing a few strands of hair out of his face.

"You know what else would be fun?" Eddie smirked, cupping Steve's face and pulling him into a kiss.

Steve let out a quiet laugh against Eddie's lips and shook his head as Eddie pulled away. "Save that energy for when we get back to my house."

"You got it, pretty boy," Eddie winked, making Steve's face turn a light pink. "But really, I'm glad you had fun. I'm glad I could cheer you up."

Steve rested his head on the curly haired boys shoulder, glancing up at the sky. It was slightly cloudy, but he could see the moon and a few stars peeking through. He let out a sigh and Eddie wrapped his arm around Steve's waist.

"I never thought I'd have someone to show this place to. This little junkyard means a lot to me and I haven't shown it to anyone," Eddie spoke softly, his gaze moving up to look at the moon.

"Really? Not anyone?" Steve asked, surprise evident in his voice.

"Not a single soul," Eddie nodded. "I came here a lot when my parents dumped me at my uncle's. I was angry with them for leaving me. This was my happy place for years."

Steve glanced at the other boy, a hint of sadness in his eyes. He didn't know that Eddie's parents had abandoned him completely. He never really questioned why Eddie lived with his uncle, and hearing it come from Eddie was heartbreaking.

"Your parents left you at your uncle's, with no explanation?" Steve spoke quietly, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.

"Yeah. They're assholes. That's why I brought you here, because we've both been abandoned by our parents. I know yours haven't completely left you, but it's pretty comparable," Eddie pulled Steve closer to him, lightly kissing his temple.

"Does the pain ever go away?" Steve whispered, clear sadness in his voice.

Eddie tensed up at that question. He stayed silent for a moment, before speaking up. "It doesn't, but I guess it does at least get a little better."

Steve could hear Eddie's voice break slightly, and a wave of emotions ran through him. He felt like him and Eddie understood each other so much, without knowing everything about each other. Steve hated that they shared abandonment issues. That was a different kind of pain, and he didn't want Eddie to have to feel that every day. He didn't know Eddie was going through that until now.

The pair eventually drove back to Steve's, with no sign of his parents being home at all. Eddie was still pissed off at them, he couldn't understand how Steve's parents could just leave their angel of a son to fend for himself. He knew Steve wasn't always an angel, he definitely had his asshole moments in high school, but he changed so much. And his parents weren't around to see it.

Eddie never wanted to abandon Steve. He wanted to stay around, no matter what it took.

Steve and Eddie were watching a movie in Steve's living room before they were interrupted by knocking on the front door. Steve rolled his eyes and got up, reluctantly removing himself from Eddie's arms. He opened the door to reveal none other than his adopted children.

"Guys, seriously? It's like ten o'clock at night. Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" Steve questioned, and the boys all rolled their eyes.

"We were wondering if we could use your pool!" Dustin said, hesitation in his voice.

"Yeah! We invited Max and El too, they're already on their way," Lucas chimed in, and Steve sighed, letting the boys come in.

"Fine, you guys get until 11:30. Then you all go home," Steve declared, and the boys cheered.

They passed by Eddie, and waved.

"Hey guys," Eddie waved back at them, giving them a grin.

"What are you doing here, Eddie?" Mike questioned, and Eddie gestured to the television.

"Steve and I were hanging out, watching a movie."

"Since when do you and Steve hang out?" Dustin raised a brow, and Steve shoved him slightly.

"Since it's none of your damn business, Henderson," Eddie shot back playfully, and Dustin flipped him off, heading outside with the other boys.

"Do we tell them?" Steve glanced out the window, watching Dustin push Lucas into the pool.

"We can if you want, Harrington," Eddie shrugged, standing up and resting his hand on Steve's lower back.

"How do you think they'd react?" Steve kept his eyes on the kids, smiling slightly as they splashed around in his pool.

"I'm getting a lot of gay energy from Will, so I'm assuming they wouldn't be too upset about it," Eddie laughed, and Steve gave him a confused look.

"You think Will is gay?"

"One hundred percent, Stevie. Have you seen the way he looks at Mike?" Eddie raised his eyebrows, and Steve thought about what he said for a moment.

It did make a lot of sense.

"I see the way that Will looks at him at Hellfire. That boy has the biggest crush," Eddie pulled Steve closer to him by his waist, and Steve did notice that Will was looking at Mike with adoration. He remembered when Eddie first looked at him like that, and how he felt.

Now Steve couldn't imagine not being with Eddie.

The two older boys made their way outside, sitting on the pool deck chairs as the younger kids swam. Dustin seemed to be in the mood of pushing everyone in, and Steve rolled his eyes.

"Henderson! Don't be a shithead," he called out to the curly haired teenager, earning a middle finger from Dustin.

"They were being shitheads first," he claimed, and Eddie laughed, shaking his head.

"You all are shitheads."

Steve laughed as he agreed, glancing over at his metalhead boyfriend. Eddie met his gaze and winked, checking his watch.

"11:30 needs to get here faster," he whispered to Steve. "If I don't make out with you soon, I may actually lose my sanity."

"We can't have that happen," Steve gave him a wink, making Eddie's face turn a light pink.

"God, what are you doing to me, Harrington?"
