"What makes you say that?" Eddie was shocked by this sudden outburst from Steve.
"I like someone that's.. not a girl," Steve confessed, immediately regretting saying that to Eddie. He wanted to tell Robin first, but here he was, confessing to Eddie.
"Really?" Eddie looked down at Steve. "Tell me about them."
"He's very unapologetic about who he is. He just doesn't care what people think of him, and everyone judges him way too quickly. I've been able to see the other side of him. The caring, sweet side," Steve rambled on, very clearly talking about Eddie.
"He sounds interesting," Eddie picked up on the fact that Steve was definitely talking about him. Steve only hung out with him, Robin, and the kids, so it was very clear. "Do you think he likes you back?"
"I don't know," Steve mumbled, fiddling with his hands. "I don't know if he likes guys."
"Why don't you ask him?" Eddie suggested, and Steve let out a laugh.
"I feel like I would look stupid asking him."
"Oh come on, Harrington. You'll never know if you don't say anything," Eddie pushed a little more, really just wanting to know if Steve was talking about him.
"What if he doesn't like me back?" Steve worried, adjusting his head so it was resting more on Eddie's leg.
"There's only one way to find out," Eddie shrugged, giving Steve a small smile. His other leg started to lightly bounce as he was becoming increasingly more anxious.
"It's just that.. Recently, I haven't been able to keep my mind off him. His dumb leather jacket and denim vest," Steve poked Eddie lightly in the chest. "His hands with those stupid rings he wears. Oh, and his hair that may almost be better than mine."
"Are you saying you have a crush on me, Harrington?" Eddie couldn't help but let out a small laugh at Steve's descriptions of his attire.
"I have a giant crush on you, Munson."
Steve normally would've never confessed his feelings this early in their new friendship, but the weed definitely loosened him up. He was anxious about what Eddie would think of him after he confessed his feelings. Steve knew he wasn't gay, but he knew how he felt about Eddie. He had never thought about guys in that way.
Eddie let out a sigh of relief and ran his hand through his curls. "I have a giant crush on you too, Harrington."
And with that, the pair sat in silence as they pondered these new feelings. It was comfortable, almost like it was normal for them. Steve grabbed the ends of some of Eddie's curls and gently twisted them around his finger while Eddie watched in admiration.
They both wanted to enjoy the moment for as long as they possibly could.

Time went on, and Eddie had another joint that he stuffed in his jacket pocket. Steve was still feeling the effects of the first one, Eddie could tell, and was laughing at almost everything Eddie said.
"You sure you want to smoke another one, Harrington? You seem like you've had enough," Eddie chuckled, lighting the second joint and taking a hit.
"Who are you to say when I've had enough? Give it," Steve took the joint from Eddie very abruptly, taking Eddie by surprise.
"Give it? You need to learn some manners, pretty boy," Eddie shook his head, giving Steve a playful smile.
"Call me that again," Steve mumbled, taking a hit and handing the joint back to Eddie.
"Pretty boy," Eddie said softly, gently rubbing his thumb across Steve's cheek.
The nickname made Steve's face turn a light pink, and he stared up at Eddie. Eddie wasn't paying attention, he was staring off into space. His body was relaxed and Steve could feel that Eddie was just happy to be there with him. Steve cared so much about him, it was crazy. He didn't think he could care for someone so much, so quickly.
He couldn't believe he liked Eddie Munson, and he also couldn't believe that Eddie Munson liked him back.
As he got lost in his thoughts, Steve started to drift off to sleep. He felt very comfortable laying on Eddie's lap, and the weed was making him tired. Eddie noticed that Steve was getting tired and ran his thumb across Steve's cheek again.
"Let's get you to bed," he said softly, and Steve groaned.
"I'm comfortable."
"Let's go, Harrington," Eddie laughed and made Steve sit up. Eddie yawned and rubbed his eyes.
"Do you want to stay here tonight? You seem tired," Steve offered, standing up and offering his hand to Eddie.
"You'd let me stay?"
"Of course. Come on, my room's this way," Steve took Eddie by the hand and pulled him up the stairs and through the hallway, into his room.
"I can stay on the couch," Eddie pushed his hair out of his face, and Steve shook his head.
"No, you can stay in here," Steve gestured to his bed. "Do you want comfortable clothes? I can't imagine jeans are comfortable to sleep in."
"Want me to wear your clothes already?" Eddie smirked, which earned an eye roll from Steve.
"Forgive me for wanting you to be comfortable," Steve shot back, a playful smile on his face.
"I appreciate it," Eddie laughed and shrugged. "I'll take a pair of sweats."
Steve dug around in his dresser for a pair of sweatpants and tossed them to Eddie. He turned back around to give Eddie some privacy to change into them, grabbing a pair from the dresser for himself and quickly changing into them. He turned and saw Eddie getting into his bed, without a shirt.
"You're drooling, Stevie," Eddie teased, propping himself up on the bed.
"Am not," Steve scoffed, getting a laugh out of Eddie.
Steve got into bed next to Eddie and pulled the blankets up over himself. He sighed as his head hit the pillow and closed his eyes. He was exhausted. He felt an arm sneak underneath him as he rested, and it pulled him closer. He could feel his head resting on Eddie's chest, and he could hear Eddie's breathing start to slow as he started to get tired. Steve felt Eddie's other hand lightly touch his hair, his fingers slowly running through it.
"Night, Eds," Steve mumbled, drifting off as Eddie played with his hair.
"Goodnight, pretty boy."
————————
Eddie woke up as the sun shone through Steve's bedroom window and rubbed his eyes. He reached out to the space next to him, but it was empty. Confused, he got up and put on his shirt from yesterday, heading down the stairs. He heard noise coming from the kitchen.
"Morning," Eddie called out to Steve as he walked into the kitchen.
"Good morning," Steve greeted Eddie with a smile. He was making breakfast for the both of them.
Eddie walked over to Steve and put his arms around Steve's waist from behind. He rested his head on Steve's shoulder and watched him cook. Steve leaned into Eddie's touch, and could feel Eddie's messy curls resting on his shoulder. If he was being honest, it felt like he was in some sort of paradise.
"Thanks for letting me stay here," Eddie spoke softly in Steve's ear, and Steve could feel chills along his spine.
"Thanks for staying with me," Steve responded, letting out a soft sigh as Eddie held him.
Steve finished plating their breakfast and Eddie finally let go, sitting down on a barstool. Steve set Eddie's plate in front of him, and then went to sit next to Eddie.
Steve couldn't help but stare at him.
He's so pretty. I want to kiss him so bad.
