Eddie swore his brain stopped functioning at that moment. Did the Steve Harrington just tell Eddie that he loved him? Maybe he heard him incorrectly? No, I'm pretty sure he said he loves me, Eddie thought.

Eddie soon realized that he hadn't responded, and snapped out of his thoughts quickly. "I love you too, Harrington."

Steve's face lit up at Eddie's response. "Really?"

"Are you kidding? I'm crazy about you, you idiot," Eddie laughed, pulling Steve into his arms and holding him tightly. "I have been for a while now."

"I'm glad someone is," Steve sighed, burying his face into Eddie's chest. Eddie frowned, placing a small kiss to the top of Steve's head, rubbing small circles into Steve's lower back.

Steve felt exhausted from the events of that day, and just wanted to sleep. He felt a heavy weight on his shoulders from standing up to his parents, he hadn't ever done it before, and it made him feel guilty. Even though his parents were definitely in the wrong, he felt like he owed them an apology.

"Sorry to say it, Harrington, but your parents are assholes," Eddie spoke up, and Steve let out a laugh.

"To say the least."

Steve eventually fell asleep with his head buried in Eddie's chest, snoring softly. Eddie could feel Steve drooling on him, but didn't care enough to wake him up and move him. So, he let Steve drool on him. How cute.

Eddie must have fallen asleep too, because he was woken up by the trailer door shutting loudly. He rubbed his eyes with his one free hand and looked around. "Wayne?"

"Hey, Eddie," Wayne gave him a small smile as he set his car keys down. "Someone had a long day?" He gestured to Steve sound asleep against Eddie.

"You don't know the half of it," Eddie shrugged, quietly sighing. "He has to stay with us for a few days. Just until his living situation gets better."

"As long as he's respectful of my property and of us, I don't see why he can't," Wayne nodded, making his way to the kitchen.

Eddie sighed in relief and gently shook Steve to wake him up. "Stevie," he spoke softly, earning a groan from Steve. "Let's go to bed."

Steve slowly woke up and sat up, still half asleep. He didn't say a word and took Eddie's hand, making his way into Eddie's room and falling onto the bed. Eddie shut the door and turned his light out, crawling into the bed next to Steve.

"Lay down faster so I can sleep on you," Steve mumbled, getting a laugh out of Eddie.

"You don't have any patience, do you?"

"There's not a patient bone in my body, Munson."

Eddie had woken up to the sun shining into his room and the space next to him was empty. He frowned at this discovery, slowing sitting up and glancing around the room. His eyes landed on a piece of paper taped onto the back of his bedroom door.

Had to work, didn't want to wake you up because you looked adorable. Bring me lunch today or else.

Eddie shook his head, laughing softly as he made his way into the kitchen to find something to eat. Not that he had much to choose from anyway.

"Corn flakes it is," he muttered to himself, pouring himself a bowl of cereal.

As the day went on, Eddie decided to make his way to Family Video to annoy Steve and Robin. His favorite pastime.

"Hey, doofus. Dingus is hiding," Robin called out to Eddie as he entered the store.

"Doofus and dingus? Really, Robs?" Eddie raised an eyebrow, and Robin flipped him off.

"It's well-deserved."

Eddie glanced around the store. There were a few people there, but not super busy. "Where is the dingus anyway and why is he hiding?"

"He's in the break room, and he's hiding because his parents are here," Robin explained, and Eddie stiffened.

"They're here? Now?"

"Right over there," Robin gestured to the middle section of the store, and Eddie's eyes landed on a middle-aged couple discussing which movie they should take home. "They keep asking where he is because they saw his car, but I keep telling them I don't know."

"Don't they have another business trip to go on?" Eddie muttered mostly to himself, but Robin heard him and agreed.

"Steve's not really opening up about what happened with them. Did he tell you anything?" Robin inquired, and Eddie sighed.

"He did but I really think he should tell you, it's not my story to tell," he shrugged, glancing at Steve's parents once more.

"I've tried, Eddie! He won't talk to me," Robin complained, leaning over the counter and tapping her fingertips against it.

"He's probably just not quite ready. Give him some time," Eddie explained, hoping Robin would understand. It seemed she did, and she stopped asking.

Steve's parents made their way over to the counter where Robin was standing, holding a few movies. "Just these today, Robin!" His mother pushed the movies towards Robin, and she forced a smile.

"Five dollars," Robin accepted their payment and tried to subtly rush them out of the store, which didn't work out quite as planned.

"At least our son doesn't dress like that," Steve's father quickly glanced at Eddie, then back at his wife.

Eddie raised an eyebrow, letting out a loud laugh. "You people aren't very good at whispering."

"He wasn't talking about you, son," Steve's mother tried her best to defend her husband, but Eddie saw right through them both.

"Sure he wasn't. I'm just the only one in here dressed like a freak, but he wasn't talking about me," Eddie gestured to the store in its entirety, leaning against the side of the counter.

"There's no need for the attitude," Steve's mother looked somewhat appalled, and Eddie laughed.

"I don't know you, and I don't have to respect you. It's clear you don't respect me in the slightest," Eddie rolled his eyes.

"No, we don't, because you dress like someone who worships the devil," Steve's father snapped, and Eddie put his hand on his chest, acting as if he was shocked.

"So what if I do?" Eddie grinned mischievously, throwing his hands up on his head and making devil horns with his fingers. He stuck his tongue out for dramatic effect, and Steve's parents rushed out of the store, fully appalled by Eddie's behavior.

"That was fun to watch," Robin commented, taking a candy bar from behind the counter.

"I aim to please," Eddie bowed as if he put on a show, and Steve emerged from the break room.

"Did you just tell my parents you worshipped Satan?" He questioned, an amused look on his face.

"Sure did, Harrington," Eddie winked, and Steve rolled his eyes.

"Seriously though, I'm glad you stood up to them. They deserve it," Steve shrugged, and Eddie instantly agreed.

"So you did learn something from my little speech from last night," Eddie observed, getting a small nod from Steve.

"I might've," Steve shrugged, waking behind the counter and facing Eddie. "Also, whatever that little devil horns face was, that was the cutest thing I've ever seen."

Steve muttered that last part only where he and Eddie could hear it, and Eddie chuckled slightly. "Noted."
