Armin Arlert pulled a trigger on the handle of his blade, causing a hook to shoot into a tower across from him. He was closely following his friend, Eren.

He was scared to face the titans, but he was confident. How bad could it be? He was trained, and so were the other 5 people in his squad. Nac, Mina, Eren, Thomas, and Mylius. He was confident the vanguard was doing well at holding off the titans.

"There are so many of them," he heard Mina yell. He looked over toward the right, there were easily 10 titans in his eyesight. Armin was worried, but he didn't show it, he had to be strong for his friends.

"Abnormal! Watch out!" Eren yelled, and pushed Armin to the left of the abnormal titan. It had jumped into a tower to the right of where they had landed.

It removed it's head from the tower, and Armin gasped. Thomas had been grabbed by the titan. He shuddered as he watched Thomas be swallowed whole by the beast.

The titan climbed off the tower and proceeded to wander toward the wall. Armin was horrified, but he couldn't show it.

He heard an angry cry and looked to see Eren leap over the buildings with his gear and pursue the titan that had killed Thomas.

"Eren!" Armin cried out and followed him, preceded by the 3 remaining members of his squad.

Mylius, Nac, and Mina who had fallen behind Armin saw it, Eren got bitten by a titan that had jumped up into the air.

"Oh no!" Mina yelled.

"We've gotta help him!" Mylius cried out, and sped ahead of his friends. He heard a smashing noise and a cry from Mina. Mylius turned, Nac had been crushed in the hand of a titan.

Mina yelled to Mylius, "Watch out!" But he didn't turn fast enough to get grabbed by the giant hand of a crawling titan, the same one responsible for Eren's death.

Mina screamed and attached a hook into the crawler's neck, she wasn't going to see another friend die. But the next thing she saw was a small titan grab the hook of her gear and pull.

Mylius saw her slammed into the wall and looked up at the glistening blue eye of the crawler titan. "Gotta go bye!" He said, as he cut off the thumb of his captor.

He flew down the alley and toward the titan about to devour Mina, he spun and cut off it's nape, making it fall into the ground. It dropped Mina, whom Mylius picked up and flew to the building where Armin was crouched down.

"Armin are you okay?" asked Mylius.

Armin looked up from Eren's body.

"I- I- think so... it's good you're alive."

"Right, but no time for small talk. Mina is out cold and Eren needs first aid. So, I'm going to go meet with the Squad behind us, and get help."

Armin nodded.

"Do you think that you'll be okay if I leave you here?" Mylius inquired.

Armin nodded again.

"Okay! Be safe!" Mylius said, and with that, he flew down the street toward the other squad.

Armin watched as he flew into the distance, hoping he would be okay. When suddenly he felt it, a giant hand picked him up. It was a titan! Armin looked down into the pink throat of the old looking titan.

There was no way out now, Mina was unconscious and Eren was dying. Armin screamed as the giant dropped him toward his mouth.

"Eren! Eren!" he screamed.

A hand locked around his wrist and threw him down onto the building by Mina, before he was locked inside the titans jaws. Armin turned quickly to see, Eren falling towards the giant's mouth. 'Eren didn't sacrifice himself for me?' Armin thought.

"Live on, Armin!" Eren yelled, as he fell into the giant's mouth and it's jaws closed on his outstretched arm.

Armin flinched as Eren's arm came flying past him. He blinked, tears in his eyes. His best friend had just been devoured. Armin screamed at the top of his lungs. It was the type of scream that was mixed with crying and surprise. The situation dawned on Armin as the titan looked down at him with satisfaction. He and Mina would die, and he couldn't do anything about it.

He stopped screaming and everything went black.
