Lauri sat next to Seje and Kayla, among the crowded classroom of the cadets from the 104ths that were learning how the Scouting Legion Functions. She recognized several people in the room, but others she assumed were from the North Division. One seat down in front of her, sat Mikasa and Armin. In the middle row, to her left, she noticed Connie, Sasha, Marco, and Mina. She couldn't quite see over to the far left row. The instructor cleared his throat. Everyone gave their attention to the man.

"Hey!" the man piped, "I'm Squad Leader Ness to those of you who didn't know! Today and several others, we'll be learning about the Scouting Legion formation that is used outside of the walls!"

Lauri took out her notebook and got a quill and ink. She wrote as Squad Leader Ness spoke.

-Rookies will be on the left and right sides of the flanks, between the supply defense squads and the scout support squads.

-In a horseshoe around the front, there are scouting squads. They spot titans. Once they see a titan they will flare red for normal titan, and black for abnormal. Directly behind them in the formations are the scout support squads, few trainees will be placed here.

-Once a scout squad fires a flare, everyone in the row that they are in must pass it down toward the center. The Scouting squads will pass it down toward the commander, who is just behind the scouting squads. In the middle front.

-The commander will then fire a green flare to indicate which direction to turn. Each squad must pass this on.
The commander also may fire a blue, signal to retreat. This is sent all over the formation.

-Another thing that may happen is a purple flare, which simply means HELP/EMERGENCY. This is not sent all over.

-In the event that a titan gets into the formation, a yellow flare will be fired off at the location. It will be passed down the row it was fired from towards the center.

-There are supply squads in the middle of the formation, and around the back. They transport various important things. They are surrounded by supply defense Squads.

-Defense Squads are scattered around the formation in case the formation is broken, breached by a titan, or someone nearby needs assistance.

-Communication Squads are what most of the recruits will be on. Only Team Leader Carter, and Team Leader Jacques have recruits on the defense Squads. Squad Leader Ness has very few trainees on the scout support squads.

-Communication Squads are in charge of passing communication, bringing horses, and assisting areas of weakness in the formation.

-Once outside of the Karanese gate, the formation will split into Squads, then Teams, then Mini-Squads that make up the actual formation.

The class was dismissed. Lauri grabbed her notebook, shut it, put the ink and quill away, then walked out of the classroom. She met with Kayla about half way down the hallway.

"Lauri," Kayla jeered, "Have you met your Team yet?"

Lauri shook her head no. "I haven't, but I'm going to right now."

"Good luck," Kayla replied.

"How was your Team?"

"It was uh," Kayla dazed off.

"Hey Kayla? Stop dreaming about the Team Leader and wake up."

Kayla snapped back into reality. "How did you know?!" She said, exasperated.

"Haha, you can't be serious Kayla."

"I am don't judge me."

"Well this is my stop seeya," Lauri said with a wave.

"Bye Lauri," Kayla called out as she walked down the hall, turned a corner and disappeared.

Lauri stepped inside the open door and sat down at the table in the middle of the room, other people began to come in one-by-one. First it was Marco, who Lauri sat and chatted with about why exactly he joined the Scouting Legion. Next, it was several members not from the 104ths, Lauri met all 3 of them. Their names were Andris, Trae, and Mahdia. Then, the rest of the 104ths came in. Lauri recongnized Mikasa and Connie, but had to meet the other 3. The other 3 were Jada, Scott, and Menja, all from the North Division.

Then came in the Team Leader. The room echoed as he stepped inside, the cobble stones and his boots colliding. He introduced himself to the recruits.

"Recruits my name is Jacques, welcome to the squad."

The recruits murmered.

"Do not be afraid to ask anything, make yourself at home with us. We're stuck together now. Now please introduce yourselves."

Marco went first, "My name is Marco Bodt. I was Captain of a Trainee Squad during the battle of Trost. I hope I'll get to know you all better."

Then went Jada, "I'm Jada Noel. I was #10 in my graduating class. I'm really hoping I get to meet you guys before any of us die."

Next was Scott, "My name is Scott Fukeboi. I'm pretty cool. Can you all try to like not freak out over how awesome I am 24/7? Thanks."

Lauri grimaced at his introduction, she already wanted to stab him in his stomach.

Mikasa stepped up, "My name is Mikasa Ackerman. It's nice to meet you all.

Trae, a member of the team spoke to her, "C'mon don't you have anything to say about yourself? Anything cool." Mikasa stayed silent, but Connie piped in.

"She's Mikasa Ackerman! That should be enough but get this, she was #1 in the class! She also was on the elite squad during Trost. She even got 10, maybe more, titan kills!"

The Team looked at her in surprise. They knew she didn't belong here, they knew she should be on the Elite Squad. Team Leader Jacques looked at Connie. "Connie be so kind to tell us about you now?" Connie shivered in his skin, something about Jacques demeanor was intimidating. Tall, brunette, bright blue eyes. It wouldn't be too surprising if he had a passion for human flesh.

"Ehh," Connie stammered, "I'm Connie Springer. I graduated #8 in my class, how are you all. He grinned sheepishly.

Menja stood next, "I am Menja Vallenale. I graduated #15 in my class. Pleasure meeting you all.

Finally Lauri's turn came. Lauri stood up, the nerves rising in her skin. "I am Lauri Dansk. I graduated at #15 in my class, I have 3 titan kills. I lost much of my family to the titans and I plan on making sure the titans don't cause that horror again. Thank you, it's nice to be an addition to this team.

She sat back down and looked to her new friends. She knew within a month few of them would be left alive.
