Your POV: 

I decided to enter the portal.

When I entered I saw that the portal had lead me into some kind of domain. It wasn't a normal domain though. It looked...wrong. The platforms were wonky, upside down and broken. It looked... corrupted. I don't know why or how but that didn't matter anyway, I had to get through this domain and find Alatus. 

No matter the cost.

There weren't many monsters. They were all injured and if not injured they were dead. Had Alatus done this? I could see traces of karmic debt. He must have been here. He had to have been. I quickly got trough the domain and reached the portal on the other side. 

I hope he's okay.

I walked through the portal. On  the other side was a cave matching the one I fell into before. Was I going in circles? No, Something felt different about this cave. I sensed him, I sensed Xiao... but also something else. 

I looked around in the cave. No one in sight. I turned my head and saw a big hole in the wall. Did he make that? That has to have drawn a lot of energy out of him. I stepped closer to the hole and looked through it...and there he was. His back turned to me. I could easily see that he was in pain. 

Then something slowly crept closer to him. Some sort of spirit. black with a red outline, must have been a lost soul who died here. Wait- it was going to attack-

Alatus/Xiao POV:

"WATCH OUT!!" 

I just managed to turn my body towards the shouting when someone threw themselves onto me. We both fell backwards and into the pit. We landed on the bottom of the cave and I let out a grunt since I was the one beneath. 

A hand quickly covered my mouth, I groaned some muffled words out in protest but the person hushed me. They had their head turned up towards the top of the cliff where we had just stood mere seconds ago. Because of their hair I couldn't see their face. 

Who did this person think they were!? I tried to say something again but I got cut of by their voice.

"Quiet." They whispered

I obeyed. I know that voice.. 

I looked up at where they were looking and saw why they wanted me quiet so badly. A spirit. An evil spirit. Did this person save me? I know them, I know I do. Their sent is so familiar.. and their voice..

They finally turned their head towards me... wait- [Y/N]!? My eyes widened in shock. They leaned closer and whispered into my ear while still keeping an eye on that monster.

"Don't make a sound. Keep your head low."

I shuddered. I could feel them breathing on my neck. Our bodies were pretty much pressed together. How long until that monster was gone? This position was making me feel.. odd. 

They slowly lifted their hand from my mouth and silently got up. They gave me their hand. 

"Sorry.."

"Don't apologize, you saved me.... thank you.." I averted my gaze. They got closer and grabbed my face.

"You're face is burning." they said with a smirk on their face. I swiped their hand away.

"...What are you doing here anyway?"

"Saving you."

"I do not need saving, I was perfectly fine before you came here.."

"Don't flatter yourself." why are they always teasing? I scoffed.

"Come on, you can be grumpy later we need to get out of here." they grabbed my wrist and lead me away.

We ended up by a door, it was about three times my height. It had some sort of mechanism in front of it. I'm assuming that it was for opening the door. There was something written on the door. It was the writing of ancient Liyue, something I haven't seen in such a long time.. I wonder if I can still read it. Let's see... it says: 'One can enter freely but beware of the frightens it contains.' the rest was too corrupted for me to read.

What does it mean..? Before I could think more about it [A/N] opened the door. 

"NO DON'T-"
