Chapter 29: Going Rogue

The team was in the COMM room, and everyone was silent about what happened in the mission.

Fives was nowhere to be seen, most likely grieving from what happened.

Tali looks over at the empty seat, feeling saddened from looking at it. "I can't believe Echo is gone..."

Chief was silent.

Echo was the second under his command to be K.I.A. when waking up from his seven year nap. He remembers how Sam died, staying behind because his suit was breached.

Echo died when he was trying to stop Saren...

Liara then thought of something that could help the crew get back on track. "Chief, I just realized that from all of the Prothean knowledge you've gathered, I might be able to piece together what Saren is after. Even where he is going."

"You want to join our minds, like the Asari on Feros did?"

"Yes, I believe this is the next best way to know where he is and capture him."

Chief nodded, willing to try anything to get to Saren. "Do it. But be quick, we're running out of time."

The two then stand in front of each other, as Liara's mind begins linking to Chief's.

"Relax, Chief... Embrace eternity!" Liara then enters the Chief's mind, as she witnesses the Prothean visions.

The vision then ends as Liara catches her breath. "Incredible. I... I never thought the images would be so... Intense."

"Did the visions make any sense to you?" Chief asked, getting straight to the point.

"It's a distress call, a message sent across the Prothean Empire. A warning against the reapers, but the warning came too late."

"Anything else? What about the Conduit?" Joe asked.

"There were other messages. Locations. Places I recognized from my research..." Then it came to her mind, Liara knows where it is. "Ilos! The conduit is on Ilos!"

"That explains the reason for Saren going after the Mu Relay." The Arbiter explains. "It's the only way to get to Ilos."

"Looks like we have a new mission, now." Chief declared.

"But Chief, the Mu Relay is inside the Terminus System. Alliance ships are not welcome there. Neither are Spectres." Tali explains.

Chief thought about this, knowing he needs to get there before Saren. "I'll talk with Council, see if I can pull some strings to go to Ilos." He then looks at everyone, seeing how tired they are from what transpired. "That will do for now. Dismiss."

The team then leaves the room, while The Chief stays to talk to the Council.

"Chief, there's a COMM link nearby. Are you ready to warn the Council about Sovereign?" Joker asked on the ship's COMM.

"Set it up, Joker."

"Patching it through."

The hollow projector then appears as all the Council members were on.
